  1. I wish I could only wash once a year, i have been washing mine every few days because every time I ride it comes back looking like an oversized fly swatter. I should have taken a picture before I washed last time, it was absolutely ridiculous, front looked more insect colored than factory red. I tried using a sponge last time, worked as well as the power wash but it took like 10 times as long. I think I will go to the power wash again next time she needs a bath, and just use low low low power. I just can't stand the insect layer!
  2. I power washed my bike the other day… didn't leave any scratches or strip the paint at all, and I avoided spraying in the exhaust and air intake obviously, but now I'm wondering if that sort of high power water is messing up anything else I'm not thinking about. How often do y'all wash your bike? Do you do it with a bucket and sponge? Anyone else ever used the spray gun?

    New to OH

Lucky. I can't wait to move to Columbus area. I've only lived in OH for 3 years, not done much exploring, but Columbus has been by far my favorite area. Want to move down there hopefully within the next year if I can find a job. It looks like the areas South East of Columbus are great riding potential area. Welcome to the forum, sounds like you have a beautiful bike, would love to see some pictures m8

    Midohio

I have never ridden on a track before, Mid OH track is about 80 miles from me but I think I am gonna shoot for August 15th and 16th and try the novice course. Does anyone know what gear is required? I have a helmet (obviously), non-specific thick gloves, and riding specific jacket, but do I need some sort of regulation leggings as well to ride on the track? do I need special motorcycle gloves or will my thick winter / work gloves be permissible? And any other advice anyone can give me? if I just have my temp license (valid through 2016) can I still ride or do I need my full license?

  13. phew. I see you have a similar machine ; ) haha sweet man, I am sure I am going to break the records when I go to Mid-Ohio this august.
  14. maaan that sounds awesome!! Pretty bikes too. I want to do this route but I have no trailer to haul my bike, I'd have to put so many miles on her.. also I think I will do the mid-ohio racetrack instructor course first to get some critique on cornering before I approach the dragon. thanks for sharing your story. and F- the rain this year.
  15. So, I put over 700 miles on my new bike in a week. ... I can't get off of it. Is this normal
  16. thanks Tonik I'm gonna take it to the mechanic soon to get a good dressing down anyway since I think it's a good idea to do it after purchasing a used bike... but didn't know if I should stop riding it until then... Don't think I'd be able to stop even if I wanted to lol been riding every day until the rain starts. can't wait for the damn rain to STOP
  17. throwing in a pic cause she's so purdy. The sound goes away at idle, not present during acceleration or cruising far as I can tell, really just when I'm decelerating
  18. Video : https://youtu.be/s9D3Yo88jEg Hey yall! I haven't ridden in 4 years so I sort of forgot the nuances of the supersport soundtrack, can anyone who knows bikes tell me if this sound is normal? Referring to the "rumbling" sound accompanying engine braking that starts a bit after 0:32 mark, during the deceleration, sound quality is a bit crap because it's recorded off my phone in my pocket but I think you can still hear it, just volume warning bc of wind @ start. anyone who could help shed some insight i would be very thankful!! probably nothing, but I'm paranoid about babying this new girl, you know how it is!!
  19. Just picked her up boys. some obligatory pics. 08 CBR 600 RR Her odometer just rolled over 4k on the way home ; ) she's lookin' as immaculate as Emma Watson's face right now

  21. Well fellas. I did it. Temp license in hand, bike title transferred, tax paid, registration sticker on, and boy what a dream it was to ride this thing home. it's amazing how fast it all comes rushing back even after a 4 year pause of riding. As soon as the rain stopped pouring I was out there. thanks for helping me realize my dream yall. gotta remember to take some pics next time she's out in the sun
  22. Wow really? The police in Ada are amazing! The only police force I have ever really palpably felt were part of the community instead of there to harass and shakedown the community. I have lived in a lot of places with bad cops : \ but Ada PD are really nice. niiiiice man. thanks for all the welcomes, this seems like an awesome community. I'm heading out to pick up my bike tomorrow in Mid Point OH, gonna be droppin $5600 for this CBR 600 RR. It's a little expensive to spend on 2008 but I really want a CBR, it's close by (ish), and the thing is so mint, only 3800 miles, new tires, can't wait to ride http://limaohio.craigslist.org/mcy/5050767355.html
  23. Well, I got my temp license today! http://limaohio.craigslist.org/mcy/5050767355.html Going to go pick up this beauty tomorrow! 2008 CBR 600RR, clean title, only 3800 miles, new tires, basically stock just some aesthetic changes, agreed on 5,600$ This sound like a good buy if i want a CBR 600 RR?
  24. I wouldn't call myself an "experienced rider," but I'm not a total squid either- I actually took a MSF course in Texas and I did learn a lot. It was 4+ years ago, but I think that I remember the critical stuff in terms of maintaining awareness, assuming the worst about cars around you, avoiding oil, not locking brakes, etc. Ok this is where I'm still definitely confused. The seller has to sign in front of a notary? What exactly does this mean? I do not remember doing this in Texas when I purchased used bikes in the past. Do I need to travel with the seller to some sort of government facility and sign papers in front of some official? Now I'm actually looking at a better deal in Middle Point OH, it's about 40 miles from my home- so I would need to find a BMV there and I would actually go obtain the new plates and registry for my vehicle BEFORE riding it? thanks for helping me with this fellas I can't explain how much time and headache yall are saving me.
  25. Yes it kind of sucks here... but! in <1yr I will be able to choose which hospital I want to work at with this medical lab sciences degree, what city should I pick? Could go Findlay, Lima, Marysville, Cinci, Toledo... I'm thinking Marysville or Sidney bc they take me in the direction of Columbus, where I really want to end up working eventually, >> I understand the best riding country is S.E of Columbus. True? Or anyone know of any other good twisty roads around my area ? or even better, a track where I can learn how to really ride a bike again?
