  1. Come out to the epic ride. We will have lots of groups and you'll be able to select your group of whatever speed you feel at that time. It's September 12.

I will be trying to get one of my managers to switch with me as I am scheduled to work that Saturday.  I am hoping to make it and hope to have my taller shocks in by then as well.

  2.  Made some changes and did a few more mods to my bike over the past couple days and I rode for 3 hours this afternoon and I have to get some more time in the saddle to get used to her again.  I will be sitting out on this ride so that I wont be tempted to push things too far until I am used to the new set up.  I am going to try and find some folks who are up for Medium or medium fast paced day of riding.  Thank you all for being open to me tagging along though and I hope to have the chance again once I get my suspension all sorted out and tuned how I want it.

Hope everyone has a fun and safe trip tomorrow.

  3. Already committed to other plans for the weekend.

You guys should make Roamer describe the pace he intends to lead you on. That way when you are all done you can call him a liar.

Note to new guy I don't know with the V-Rod, normally cruisers can't keep up with this particular groups pace. I say normally because there certainly are and have been exceptions but if your line about the suspension being lowered is correct then I would suggest you find a more appropriate group to ride with on this site. While the V-Rod certainly is a capable machine and you may be a very good rider the bike has been hampered in a way to make it not conducive to this type of ride.

Thank you very much for the info!  I learned on my last trip to Wayne National Forest that I did not like the performance loss due to the bike being lowered.  I have raised the front back to stock height and the 13" 444 Progressive shocks are on back order until Mid Sept. so once I get them in I have a buyer for my 12" ones so I will then have the maximum lean angle back and will then hopefully be able to save my exhaust from dragging.

I am fine with starting out with everyone and dont expect anyone to wait or hang back for me if I am not able to match the pace. I have most of the routes on my GPS for the area and will venture off on one on my own.  Plus would give me a chance to meet some of the forum members.

  4. I'm fine with it just have to plan accordingly. Just ask if you rool with me on the way down that every other gas stop be a splash and go and make every other stop extended.

Wont be a problem!  I like to stay on the road and I have gotten pretty quick at filling this thing up due to the unfortunate frequency until I get the bigger tank installed.

  5. Jeff, i will let you know. After these guys dropped the koolwink equation i was wondering whtr i should wait till these guys finish there ride to know more about the area. But either ways i am riding this friday or saturday if not to Va some where in seo. I will wait for more input from Jerry. And i will PM you if we ride friday

And talking about gas stops, 90 mile seems pretty scary. We were in WV couple of weeks ago. I just looked up some google gas stops and kept riding, That was a major mistake as most of them turned out to be old closed off ones and i pulled in to a gas stop with just 0.2 or so gallon in my reserve. That day i knew the big boy gets about 190 to gas tank :D

I am originally from Morgantown WV and know all to well about the gas stations through most of the state.  I could come up with a safe fuel container to place the saddle bags most likely or I think anyway.  I am also fee on Saturday morning or afternoon as my daughter has a Birthday party from 1pm to 3pm in which I have to be there to help out the wife.

  6. I've been riding for a few years now, from North Canton and I haven't been through the cuyahoga valley. Was just at the Gorge park in Akron yesterday though!

Any good way to find out the good routes to take around the valley?

www.motorcycleroads.com is what has helped me find some of the best roads so far.  I am looking to get out on Saturday so hit me up if you want to ride and I can show you the roads in the area that I hit regularly.

  7. Beware the 555!  I just rode it last week and it's it's absolutely tore up and a danger to ride.  The southern 1/3 to the river is okay but anything north of that up to Zanesville is absolutely trashed.  They are doing a pipeline project and have a gravel mill along the route.  All the heavy truck traffic has removed entire sections of road that are filled in with mud and rocks!  Stay away!

Wow!  Thank you very much for the update on that section of the road.

  8. Welcome!  The valley is nice to cruise through if you don't want to wander too far from home, as are many roads to the SE & SW of Canton.

It sure is a nice ride, my 8 year old daughter loves to ride with me every chance she gets and she loves this ride.

  9. Hello,

I moved to Ohio this past November and I am hoping to meet some fellow riders to carve up the roads with.

I sure have and have already hit the Amish trail and a few other routes in Ohio. I use the website www.motorcycleroads.com which has helped me find some great routes. Have a trip planned next month for 2 full days of riding around Marietta. I have done the route 26 route already down there and loved it but cant wait to go back and hit it again along with the Triple Nickel.
