Weekly dinner, what day of the week works best for you?
trentwilson43056 replied to Casper's topic in Events
Actually any day works for me.Looking forward to it. -
You know I grew up in Dennison and am very familiar with Tappan Lake.I'm thinkin this sounds petty awesome and even though I have never been on those roads I have a pretty good idea what I'll be getting into. Thanks so much for the info.

Anyone know of a shop in the central that has the Woolich Racing ecu flashing capabilities?
-
Yea the first six miles or so no big deal but when it takes that left turn into it,awesome all the way over to Stillwater and then 800 back to Dennison. That's awesome. You probably been on 541 over to Martinsburg lots of times. That's another one.

Ok here's the deal why didn't I know about State Rt 258 from Newcomerstown to Stillwater? Why has not anyone let me in on one of the best stretches of paved road motorcycle riding in the state? Why?Why I say. Some things are just unexplainable

That's on Rt 26.Gotta love that route. If you're going north when you get to rt 260 turn left to the signs for free camping. It's only a couple of miles at the most. The sign will say Lightner Homestead. It's very secluded and the price was right. Now when you get to Woodsfield on rt 26 take Rt 800 south and where it ends take the ferry across the river. It's a $3 ride for motorcycles.

I 71 sucks too.lol,lol,lol,lol.I hate that road.Oh wait all interstates suck.
-
You nailed it bro in my book the only good section of 555 is from route 37 to route 78 it's a short distance but like I said in my book it's the only good one.Like you said and I have ridden it many times that section just plain sucks and is dangerous. Here's the funny part the only safe curves to really lay into are marked with a 35 mph suggested speed warning and to this day I don't know why seeing those are safe at twice that speed.

So you got some low quality chrome accessories for your bike. Here's a tip to extend it's life.Hang up the part and put a coat of clear coat on it.It will seal it up from premature rust.

Nothin duct tape won't fix if no one else is intrested.

Hey bro I'd love to hook up Saturday or Sunday, but I have one problem.I laid my bike down a couple of weeks ago and while it's still rideable at the least I gotta put a set of brakes on the front and my wife is on vacation this week.We could meet somewhere. If I can get those brakes put on I'm up to it,scuffed up left side broken turn signal and all.Can we just say I'd like to but I don't know if I can get my bike ready.

I will do that

Thanks guys I appreciate the info.

Did anyone catch the buzzard circling at about five minutes.Lunch was being sized up.Riding way beyond his skill level and talking way to much.

Yea and you could pick up 250 in Dennison and take it to Cadiz and then pick up 22 to Pittsburgh.250 goes past the Tappan Lake region and is pretty nice..I got stock pipes so I probably wouldn't make much noise but back in my truck driving days I could wake up the tunnel with my air horn and engine brake. Some of us never grow up.lol.Hey you guys why the small file size for attachments on this site?I'm guessing it's due to the expense of the site's administrator. How do you post photos with your reply? I guessing you just attach a link to the photo.I don't know much about this stuff.

Yea I'm fine.I just gotta break a lazy habit of grabbing the front brake only in severe situations.A very BAD habit I've developed. and after that will certainly break.

I have to apologize for my cut short route report.I planned on an overnight trip but forgot my meds and had to go home.No meds and well we won't talk about that.Ok so's I leave Newark and head south on route 13 toward Athens where I'll pick up 33 down to the river.Except for dumping my bike in Glouster it was a pretty nice trip to the river where I pick up route 7.I'm sure most of you have been on route 7 along the river. It's pretty nice and scenic and eating a packed lunch along the river at a river park in Gallipolis is pretty cool.Gallipolis has some pretty cool buildings along the river. The next leg is continuing along 7 to Crown City where I pick up route 141 west and move away from the river for a little while over to route 141 to Ironton. There was a boat load of switchbacks and twisties along these routes that the map says is 18 miles.Just what do these people do for a living? They obviously have jobs. But where?Ok well the rain set in around Ironton where I pick up 52 over to Portsmouth and this is where I had to cut the trip short and head north on 23 in the rain to Circleville.Nothin like a straight wide flat road in the rain. After a coffee warm up at McD's in Circleville the rain quit and I jump on 22 east toward Lancaster. What a great ride that road is over to Lancaster and very little trafficNice little hills and easy curves and in my opinion was the most enjoyable part of the trip.Once I get to Lancaster I hop on 37 back to Buckeye Lake.Another very enjoyable route.Maybe because there's no rain and the sky is blue with so awsome clouds.Comming into buckeye Lake I pick up 79 back to Newark. All in all I figure about 290 miles. What a great ride. All routes were well maintained and in excellent conditionI originally planned to go over to Maysville Ky and spend the night there at a local campground but maybe next time.Oh and I'm thinkin' my insurance rates are going up next year when they make the repair estimate from my little spin out.Oh well..

715 was pretty good shape.I know for a while it was pretty iffy due to tar and chipping but overall it was pretty good.
-
715 was pretty good shape it was pretty iffy for a while after they tar and chipped parts but like I said it was fine.
-
Thanks,I'm adding at least 5 miles of county road to my weekly ride.It was awesome.
-
Yea today was one awesome day.2 hrs are better than 0 hrs. This weekends gonna rock for riding weather in most of Ohio.

Ok so I started out leaving Newark on state route 13 south headed for Athens when I get to New Lex and think it's time for something different and pick up state route 345 which was a great road but thinking it went east it took me north to US 22,blaa so's I jump on 22 and thought maybe a laid back ride over to Cadiz,I don't know maybe 60,70 miles.Well after passing through Zanesville out the other side of town I decide I've had enough of this so I know there's state route 83 in New Concord.I catch it north and ahhhhh, redemption. It's a rockin combination awsome scenery even before the leaves come out and a few stretches of some pretty good twisties.26 miles later I roll into Coshocton and catch a Subway sub at that gas station where on the weekend you run across tons of bikes. After eating I figured Millersburg sounded like a pretty good destination and jump back on 83 north for another 25 miles it's a great ride of more of the same. After grabbing a water and looking at the map out on 39 west in Millersburg I decided I was gonna find my way as we used to say in the trucking business"cross country" over to state route 60.So I map out township rd 301 to county road 400 that turned out to be great paved 1 and !/2 lane roads lined with cattle farms about 6 miles over to state route 60 south only to find out it was closed at route 62 with a detour east. That just would not do so I headed west over to state route 206 south and take it down to 715 east and hang out at Mohock Dam for a while. After leaving Mohock east on 715 and pick up 36 fot a short jog over to state route 79 south which goes back to Newark.Well I pull up to the state route 541 intersection and anyone who's ever ridden that road over to Martinsburg knows it's a siren call.It is without a doubt one of the best roads for twisties in Ohio so I take it over to Martinsburg catch 586 south and back on 79 to Newark. What a ride. That M109R rocks. It's a grandpa's sport bike.Oooo rah
