  1. 1 hour ago, what said:

Ray Ray's is the best brisket I have had, even counting numerous BBW joints in GA/TX/TN/LA/SC/NC/etc. There was this tiny shitty shack down in KY near the Lexington horse museum that had some really good brisket too though.

**The KY place is called Red State BBQ

Hmm...my sister lives in Lexington...guess its time to pay a visit

  2. Welcome to the fold! Congrats on passing the course as well. I'll echo what many have already said about buying a used bike versus a new one. Also, when it comes to gear, don't be too skimpy. It is YOUR body you're trying to protect. Remember that. Luckily we have an EXCELLENT forum sponsor in @RidersDiscount who can hook you up with some great prices and the BEST customer service around! Don't worry if you go on a group ride about your pace. Make it known that you're a newer rider and it may be your first ride with them. I'm sure that someone will take the time to keep you in their sight and offer helpful constructive criticism. DON'T TRY TO KEEP UP!! Ride your ride. They will always wait for you at the next turn. Good luck and enjoy!

  3. Getting ready for the first big trip of the season. My uncle and I have been talking about where to go and the Hawks Nest, NY  area came up for discussion. We decided that would be a great place to go, and seeing as I already have a 3 day weekend for the holiday, might as well burn a Personal Holiday and make a nice long weekend out of it. The plan is to leave Belpre on Friday and ride to Mansfield, PA for the first night. Then the 2nd day, make our way to Port Jervis,NY and Hawks Nest then up to Johnstown, NY for the night. 3rd Day making a small loop up into the Adirondacks and back down thru the Finger Lakes region to Olean, NY for the last night. And finally, an easy jaunt thru Western PA back down to Belpre on Monday. Hoping for a good trip with lots of great riding. Here's the link to the map I've come up with if anyone is interested or knows any good spots to stop. We're making the stop at Kinzua Bridge for sure on the way home.
