  1. By then will have a better job or at least two jobs. I will buy a car than if need too. From what I have been told, it has not snowed or had blizzards in this part of ohio much for a few years now and most winters have been warmer. I want to get my bike riding in now, I have been waiting for a few years now. Plus I will be in Japan by next summer I could be gone back as soon as winter. So purpose is for me to save up money for going back to Japan get another job. If I find a nice bike, I can take it back with me. Thats why I dont want car payments. Dont want to have a loan on something and than go back to Japan. I have talked with the owner of the bike, explained to him that in a couple of weeks I will have 1800. I told him I will check to see if he still has the bike then. Also the owner of the Honda VF700 only wants 1500. I need to see the bike and see how I fit and check if its too heavy for me.Of course if something comes along and I have the money for it and it fits and is in good working order, and I like it I will buy it.
  2. I mentioned before, where I work, I have to either ride a bicycle or take a bus which the nearest bus stop is still 40 mins away from work after I get off of the bus. The bus doesnt always come for the times I need it to get to and from work. Sometimes I have to ride a bike. Part of the way there is a very busy industrial road with semis, trucks, etc. Dangerous. Plus where I live the bus doesnt really come often and doesnt come on Sunday. Purpose of motorcycle will be to have a way to get to work(only takes 10 -15 mins by car.) And for me to be able to look for a better job outside of the area where I live, not many places close by. Sometimes I work night sometimes day. More Dangerous to ride or walk on the part of the area which is going to work at night. There are not any street lights. No bus if I have to work nights. Plus dangerous to walk nights anyway. I have arrived in the country from living overseas, so no car. So its either buy a shitty car and waste money and turn around and buy a better car and motorcycle , or get a motorcycle, something cheap for first bike. So next year I can have enough money saved up to buy a nice bike. I am not waiting until winter to buy a bike. I am not wasting money on buying a car under 10,000 dollars which most likely will be a car I dont like and one with problems. Unless I come across someone selling a nice car for cheap. Plus I dont want car payments.
  3. I have looked for them. Dont have the 2500 yet. Wont until sometime in July unless get 2nd job. Which is hard because it will be hard to get to second job without vehicle. Trying to find what I can now.
  4. Yes I need to buy, well in two weeks i will have about 2000 dollars, maybe I should be alittle patient. The two bikes I am looking at now from the people that was suggested to buy their bikes, the Ninja 250 Ex for 1800 and a Honda VF700 for 1500, they are both carb bikes. Dont know what a choke is so dont know if they have one. My car in Japan was a inline, and I have had to do things with injectors before so not worried if its a injected bike, the carb is what I am worried about. Dont want a ton of maintenance bills after buying a carb bike. I do not know anyone who knows how to fix bikes, so I would be at the mercy of the shops here, and I dont trust shops here, because I know that some will try to rip you off. Not a big problem in Japan like here. Dont want a heavy bike either as a first bike.
  5. With modern bikes and older bikes, what is the big difference between having a fuel injected bike vs carbs? All of the bikes I rode at the classes I took were fuel injected. Whats the down side of having a carb bike?
  6. I want to have that much, I hope I can get that much but at this point I only have about 1500 dollars. I need transportation, car is too expensive right now, bike is best for me, plus I want to ride.
  7. Well, I am spending money on something that is not cheap, I dont have money to buy something and than say oops. I want to make a good decision, if its bothering you, than dont read the posts. I could have bought the Katana, but because I asked about it, I learned that it is heavy and not a good bike, did more research into it. The bikes people suggested I went to the sites on craigslist to check it out. The ad owners are not responding to my mails, except for the scammers. So I check craigslist everyday, Racersedge, etc. I dont have lots of money so my choice is small. If a bike is not good, I do not want to buy it. If it is better to buy a more modern bike than a 20 year old bike then I will do that. I am new and learning. If I had the money to spend, I would have bought certain bikes already. I dont, so the ones I am finding at the price range I have are ones I do not know much about.
  8. Craigslist has turned out to be not good. So the ones suggested from that are a no at this point. The Honda Interceptor and the the Ninja 250 mentioned by Hiro are the only ones I have actual real contact with the sellers.
  9. Thanks, I joined the group. Which would be better, the Ninja 250 or the Honda Interceptor vf700 ? I want to make sure the bike is not too small and I wont grow out of it quick. I plan on using the bike as a daily commuter.
  10. Quest continues, someone has a 1986 Honda Interceptor VF500 Is that a good bike? They want 1500 dollars for it? The OMRL I could not find on Facebook.
  11. Quest continues, someone has a 1987 Honda Interceptor 700cc. Is that a good bike? They want 1500 dollars for it? The OMRL I could not find on Facebook.
  12. Hello everyone, I found two bikes, both from racers edge both salvage title. One is a Suzuki GS500F missing its cowling and front light. Its 1,100 dollars. The store sells aftermarket naked bike headlight kits for the bike or as I found on ebay, replacement cowls are not that expensive. The store also has a Kawasaki Ninja 300 2015 model. They want 2800 dollars for it. The store says it has some minor scratches but is fine. With racersedge they let you put money down on the bike and pay monthly until its payed off then you can have the bike. The GS500F I can buy now, the Ninja I would have to do payments. I did some research into the GS500F, seems its a heavy bike. Is this a good beginner bike? Should I go for one of these deals? Or be patient? I continue to run into scams on Craigslist and people not responding to emails or not answering the phone that they give out the number to call.
  13. I saw the Buell on there yesterday bu than I found one on craigslist for 1700 dollars. Tried calling some sellers yesterday, no answer. Will try again. Racersedge just allows you to pay on the bike and they will hold it until its completely paid off. But many of the bikes have salvage titles and you have to fix it and get it registered. Dont have the extra money to try to turn a salvage title into a clear title. I dont know whats involved.
  14. Has anyone heard of buying a bike thru ebay like this: I found a motorcycle for cheap and I was curious about it, I know on craigslist you have to be careful. I thought it was a FZ06 but seems its a different bike. I read the bike model wrong. I noticed after I received the first email. I left the persons name out incase this is legit. Here are the emails I received from the person about it: Email 1: The 2009 Yamaha YZF-R is still available. It is in a good condition, no scratches, no damages, never been involved in any kind of accidents. Only 3,842 miles. ABSOLUTELY NO ISSUES at all and I have the clean title in hand. I'm selling it at this final price 1,500 because my husband passed away 2 months ago (he had a heart attack) and brings me bad memories and that's the reason I want to sell it asap. I also got a new job, moved back to my hometown, and many other things have priority now, so, this bike has to go. If you are interested in buying my bike, feel free to email me.I also attached more pictures. Bet regards, Email 2: Hi again,As I told you in my first email, got a new job and moved back to my hometown, Omaha, NE. Before leaving I had prearranged the deal with eBay so my presence isn't necessary. They won't give me any money until you receive and test the bike. It is at the shipping company, ready to be delivered. The shipping cost is included in the selling price of the bike! You got 5 days to test it and inspect the bike. So if you want to make this deal I need the following details from you:-full name-shipping address-phone numberOnce I got all the details, I will forward them to eBay and they will proceed with the order. They'll email you with all the information that you need to complete this deal and also they will confirm that the deal is conducted through them and I'm a legitimate seller. Waiting for your email with the requested details.Thank you Email 3: You will see these guys are great! I've started the transaction with eBay and asked them to send you the invoice by e-mail, all the instructions and details about your safety and about the sale altogether. After you receive the invoice, in case you decide to buy it you will have to pay through eBay, as they will hold, protect and guarantee your money. You will try it out for 5 days, and if at the end you are happy with it, you can give them the "green light" to release the money to me. Or if not, you can just send it back and get a refund, without paying for the shipping. Thank you! P.S. It may take up to 12 hours for eBay to process the information and they will send you the invoice tomorrow morning for sure. Does this sound legit?
  15. https://cincinnati.craigslist.org/mcy/6135662771.html How about this?
  16. Sounds cool, but it would take another month to get the rest and I want to get something asap if possible so I can get safely to work and not have to ride a bicycle and or walk 40 mins to get there.
