  1. For some reason I have always been attracted to smaller bikes as opposed to the multitude of full-size cruisers that seem to rule the roads these days. There is a quasi "risk" element implied while exploring one's surrounding environment on these machines. I seek a riding experience that brings me closer to my setting as I move along through time and space . . . and seeing the familiar through new eyes. Does this make sense???
  2. Sorry for the duplicate posts; still learning how to use this site 😐
  3. Already prepared for this inevitability, max power. I've prolly got around $10k invested in the CT already, and am surprisingly not ashamed of it!
  4. Butters, the bike is supposed to weigh about what I do: ~180 pounds. Should be highly maneuverable! I'll be surprised if the high schoolers don't try to steal it 😆

  7. Thanks ricer1! My best personal asset is thick skin 😆 Really eager to enjoy this bike for whatever remains of the riding season once it's finished.
  8. Will post photos once the bike is finished. I have an expert CT builder in Detroit doing the job. This project is supposed to be completed in July. For those of you who care, here is a photo of what it will look like. The pictured bike is a finished product from the same guy who's building mine. My CT will be Victory red with lots of shiny metal componentry.

  10. I had a cat that looked just like this one, and still have scars on my hands from him beating me up.
  11. 2tall, no need for preemptory apologies; I don't judge and am certainly no grammar Nazi--outside of my classroom 😅
  12. Wow, you and I are teaching to different sides of the students' brains 😆
  13. Thanks, Durk. What do you teach?
  14. Hi, all-- I'm a newbie rider eagerly awaiting the completion of my vintage 1970 CT70HK0 Honda restomod project which, by the way, is costing me fairly big dollars: new, larger 110cc Honda Nice engine, oil-damped triple tree with inverted forks and disc brakes, "real" rear shocks, 12-volt CDI, LED lighting, 65+ mph capability, and much more. Any of you who have memories of the CT70 during your high school years will understand my love for this bike! Back in the day, I could never afford one, but now it's my turn . . . This build has been in the works for two years, and is slated to be done within a couple of weeks; I am more than ready to take a rider course and hit the streets! I am a high school English teacher, and am eager to participate in this forum. Are there any other CT70 street riders out there in our home state?
