Nope. The coil is mounted on a bracket along with the control module on the front of the driver's side of the engine block. The LT1 coil is known for failure and causing the symptoms you'd described. My LT1 went through three of them.

The storm last week took some tolls on my 22yo roof and I just filed a claim with my insurance company. Looking for a good roofing company with an excellent track record and preferably personal experience with members on here. Covering all or part of my deductible is a bonus. I will not use Able Roofing, either. I watched one of their employees back his company truck out of a driveway and plow down the mailbox across the street. He left, even after someone stopped and told him he'd hit it.
