  1. Hahahaha, did you even read any of the paragraph before that sentence, or the conversation up to now? I just said that there are much bigger socioeconomic disparities that need to be dealt with and that lead into these issues.

The fact that you think I'm a racist is laughable and points to either an issue with you seeing only what you want to (not accusing you), or more likely another broad issue of 90% of the communication happening through social media where there is no implied tone or ability to clarify before things are blown up.

I'm all for helping the black community, but as I stated I'm not educated on these issues and unsure of an obvious and logical way to go about that on a broad scale.

Most times the reason I enter these threads is to read others opinions/information on the subject and even ask questions about things I've heard/seen elsewhere. Greg (and others) usually replies with an informative, if unintentionally condescending at times, bit of info or sources that I take into account when forming my own opinions.

It's interesting to hear what locals from both sides with similar interests have to say.

That's exactly what a racist would say....

  2. I think a few things that can be done that will yield big improvements have already been discussed here.

    1. The ROE for Police interacting with civilians should not be the same as Military engaging a hostile enemy. Ruby Ridge, Waco, and countless other examples.

Someone noted that "he shouldn't have shot at police" during a no knock raid. Well no knock raids shouldn't even be a thing. I can only speculate what I would do if my door was kicked in in the middle of the night.

    2. Remove qualified immunity. There should not be two sets of laws. One for "the state" and one for us poor cattle. Everyone should play by the same sets of rules. If I make an error on my job I am responsible. If a doctor makes an error during an operation they are responsible. Police should be held accountable for their errors as well, especially when it involves life and death.

  3. Cabbage cases will make you a custom case. They HAD a shop off of 5th in Grandview. They made us a bunch of custom cases for equipment when I worked for Time Warner.

Lots of musicians use their cases for protecting amps and such.

  4. Hypothetical, if CV-19 had a 90% death rate, would it be government overreach to step in and take drastic measures to prevent hundreds of millions of Americans from dying? Disregard the mechanism (state/federal), just in general would that be a proper role of government or is that an abrogation of freedom?

    Short non nuanced answer?

    yes it would be overreach

  5. Let me know how that works out and overall quality, etc... I'm easily in this chair 10-12 hours a day and really need to upgrade to something that wont ruin me.

First impressions so far is that it is a really beautiful piece of furniture. They are heavily focused on branding an presentation for sure. Box was super heavy, but everything was packaged super nice. Easy to put together.

Reviews said it was too firm, but I like it so far for the hour or so I have sat in it. My one issue so far is that the arms wont go under my current custom desk, so I will have to build some risers for that. The Titan is for taller people I guess. So i haven't been able to use it in a way that is super comfortable. Kind of leaning forward right now.

No regrets so far, but it is pretty expensive. We shall see how it holds up.

  6. I try to limit my hand sanitizer use. I’m a big fan of howie mandell and his story on what hand sanitizer did to him has me weary of overuse.

I'm not familiar. Any desire to elaborate? I also just wash my hand more, but when we are forced out in public (every two weeks or so) we use saniizer...

  7. Werd.

Be a healthcare worker, bust your ass working a shitload of overtime every year, work even more during this outbreak, receive zero hazard pay, make above the cutoff because you worked so much, and no stimulus check for you. Thanks Obama.

Sounds like you should quit, and go work at McDonalds.

  8. I've never been much of a worry type person but for some reason this shit has me shook to the core. It's just terrifying shit to have to wake up to every day and the nightmare gets worse every day.

    Sucks man.

I've always tried to have the mindset that I can only control whats directly inside my sphere of influence. So I just focus on getting that as correct as possible. That tends to keep me mentally relaxed.

We'll get through this. The human race has survived much worse.

  9. got an official letter handed to me by our union for in case I get pulled over during a total shut down, it's proof I work for a company that will still be working. They are the belief more restrictions are on the way.

    Papers please......

  10. Got a good, solid look at it today while manning OH's drive-thru swabbing station.

Follow the guidelines, please. It's not good. For the love of God, don't be an idiot and shrug this off as nothing.
