  1. Same problem here...do I know you?!?hahaha...j/k

When I moved to Columbus in 2002, I went to Passen for help on my CRX swap. I had it there for about a month or two and they never touched it. But the thing is they told me they did and had it started and needed to finish minor stuff up. So when I found out they were lying to me I took my car back. Eventually got it running my self and then moved back to Chicago in 2005 and parted out the entire car....

Thank you for that wonderful story.

  2. Man, that white car was so fast. hehe

Nice vid. And nice talking to you guys. Did you end up getting the pic with the fire ball out of the RX 7?

When I saw you and Hua line up I was like...that motherfu.. but then you didn't run.

I was gonna be angry :)

  3. That still doesnt make it non streetable. I would say something that cant go from light to light in downtown traffic in the same heat we have now without overheating would make it not streetable...

Sorry, I completely forgot about this thread.

My argument wasn't about MPG, it was about range.

Perhaps my 50 miles per tank would still be considered streetable... but how about a 5mpg and a 2 gallon fuel cell?

That is the only point I was trying to make.

    Carry on.

  4. get collector tags, not easy but if you can, then you only need one plate.

Actually I dont think that is accurate. I just got my collectors tags, and the woman said I am still required to display my front plate.

Which I dont do... I consider it a luxury tax. I have only been stopped for it once in the 7 years I have had the car though.

  5. Making the check out to the creditor ties the $ up with the creditor. Most will not cut a check for the remainder/over payment for 30 days. And the title gets to the buyer no sooner. The seller than is not able to use the $ to get a car right away.

Depending on the situation... .If the buyer is taking a loan out on the car, then their bank will deal with my lender. Their bank will then issue a memoradum(sp) title so they can get temp tags.

I noted that there is a lien on the car to make any potential buyers aware that there are going to be extra steps in this transaction. I am just trying give full discloser of the situation.

In all honesty, I have been a buyer in this situation before, and it's not that big of a deal. There are a few more steps than you hand me cash, I hand you a title though.

Pics should be up today. We took them on Saturday, but didn't have the cable for the camera.

  6. I think you should have to pay the ticket, you are fixing her car for her, but its not her fault that you havent put the plates on. Think of it this way, if she had gotten in an accident would you expect that she pay your deductible for your insurance? Because I would and she wouldn't have to by law, but its the right thing to do because it was her fault, its her fault she pays, this is the same situation but reversed, its your fault you dont have the front plate, you know its an Ohio law, you pay the ticket. At least that's how I think of it.

You are never driving my car again... :)

  7. I was having a weird issue with the rear suspension on my car. I took it up to Mike's NTB on Tuttle with custom Alignment specs. Their machine didn't read in mm for the Toe settings. Mike's Tech went out of his way to call around and get the correct coversion to degrees.

Car drives/handles awsome now. Not only that, but he gave me a kick ass price.

Mike Nieman, NTB on Tuttle Crossing. Highly recommended.
