  1. My wife has been bugging me lately about finding her somewhere to download music from. It has been a long time since I have, so I did a bit of searching. I came across 2 websites that seem to be pretty cheap: mp3fiesta.com & legalsounds.com I was wondering if anyone had any experiences with either of these? They both seem to have similar prices, but mp3fiesta offers different levels of memberships, even one for unlimited downloads for life. Any information you could share about these sites would be great. I would assume these sites are legal? I am open to other suggestions as well. The only criteria I am looking for is relatively cheap prices and legal downloads. Thanks guys.

    Need Advice

Austin, thanks for the reply. What I was trying to say regarding registration, was that if for some reason the receivers were ever "looked at", it would come up saying that the Company who sold him the receivers as the "Person" who last "owned" them, if that makes any sense? I know that once you buy a weapon, there is no "registration" per say and that anyone can sell that weapon to another individual. I was just wondering if there would ever be anything to worry about if my buddy just kept the receivers and didn't "legally transfer them"? Could doing so ever come back to bite him in the a**? Thanks

    Need Advice

I am looking for some advice regarding a situation my buddy is currently in. I'll make this brief. Buddy bought a few AR lower receivers from a company a few weeks ago. Knowing that these had to be shipped to a FFL holder, he set that up. FFL holder faxes over paperwork to said company, buddy pays for the receivers. He calls me up last night and said that UPS just dropped off his receivers at his house. He isn't sure why they went to him instead of the FFL holder. Now though, he wants to just keep the receivers instead of taking them to his FFL holder and completing the paperwork. He is saying that by not completing the paperwork, then the gov't won't know he has them, since they aren't registered under his name. What I think, but I'm not sure: I told him that if he doesn't take them to a FFL for the paperwork, then the receivers will still be registered to the company he bought them from. So if for some reason in the future, these are ever checked, they will come back as belonging to the company he purchased them from. So, this is where I'm looking for some advice. I'm not sure if I am correct or not. I think he should take them to his FFL and fill out the paperwork. However, I'm not quite sure about the legalities of all of this. So, what do you guys think/recommend? Thanks in advance fellas.
  4. sol740 - Yes, I'm referring to cell based broadband. V8KILR - Thanks for the link. I briefly looked into satellite internet, but there pricing seems a bit rediculous. Plus, I have heard nothing but bad things regarding satellite internet. I am considering Sprint right now, as it appears that they have a little better coverage at the house compared to Verizon. And as someone mentioned, it seems that all the companies have a monthly limit of 5gb. Regarding that, since I'm pretty much computer stupid, is 5gb a month enough for normal web surfing/ etc. ?? I don't download much, just mainly surf the net and do some research. I guess I just don't know how 5gb relatively stacks up to general web stuff. Thanks for the input so far everyone.
  5. The wife and I are looking at buying a house in a rural area that has no cable/dsl possibilities for internet. So I have been looking at other options. The one I keep coming back to are the Broadband access devices from companies like Verizon and Sprint. However, I know nothing about these and was wondering what everyone else's opinions of them are. I see there are options such as USB modems/Air cards, etc.. Is one better than the other? What should I be looking for? I would assume that the speeds on these aren't great, but are surely better than say dial-up. I would also assume that connectivity and speed depends on what kind of service the area has. I have a verizon phone right now, and out at the property I only get 1 or 2 bars, so not great reception. I would guess that this would also have an effect on my ability to access the internet via one of the above mentioned devices? Basically, I trying to search for what options are out there for my situation. I know nothing about this stuff so any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks fellas..
  6. It really depends on 2 things: How much money do you want to spend? What exactly do you want to do with the rifle? The 2 makers that I have had experience with and would recommend are Remington and Savage. Both have there pros/cons, really comes down to personal choice. Scenario 1: A carry rifle that has the potential to reach 1000 yards but is lightweight and portable = Rem 700 sps tactical as Killjoy linked to or Savage 10FP, both in .308 Both should be had for under $700 (Savage usually cheaper) Scenario 2: A long range rifle that can reach 1000 yards and is designed more for LR shooting than portability = Rem 700 xcr tactical/sps varmint or Savage 10fp/12fv, all in .308 Prices vary with Savage on low end, Rem sps varmint middle, Rem xcr high end, price wise. If you are truly looking for a long range rifle and that is what you want to use it for, I would go scenario 2. Remington in scenario 1 is only a 20" barrel and fairly lightweight. The Remington xcr (scenario 2) seems like a good rifle but I don't have any personal experience with it. I use the Savage 10fp in both scenarios, because it has a 24" barrel with a bit more weight. Also, the Savage will probably be the cheaper priced rifle. As far as that goes, I'll give specs on my long range rifle. Savage 110fp (long action) 24" heavy barrel Choate ultimate sniper stock Bausch and Lomb Elite 4000 scope (6 x 24) Harris bipod I built this rifle only for stationary shooting, it certainly isn't lightweight and I would hate to have to pack it very far. It weighs in at roughly 17 pounds. However, weight is your friend in long range shooting, more stability and less felt recoil. Also, the longer the barrel the more velocity, velocity is your friend at 1000 yards. The choate ultimate sniper stock is awesome (imo), you either hate it or love it. It features aluminum bedding block, free floats the barrel, length of pull adjustment, etc. See it at http://www.choatestocks.com/UltimateSniper.html I have personally shot my rig at 500 yards with very good results, using reloads. When you start getting out there in yardage, a lot of it is the shooter, so practice all you can. Correct distance and learning to read wind/elevation are key. Anyways, according to today's prices, you could snatch up a Savage 10fp for say $500, Stock $200, then your choice of optics is up to you. That being said, the Savage IMO is a great deal for the money and will do all that the Remington will do, just cheaper. Don't get me wrong, I have a few Remmy's, but since I built my Savage, I'm a believer. Let me know if you have any questions.
  7. Yea, it's only a 1 car garage, but the rest of the house is in great shape. Plus most of the other homes in the area that are comparable only have a 1 car garage also. UPDATE: Pics are now up on the realtor.com link I posted... Thanks for looking.
  8. Well, the wife and I have officially moved to Indy, so our house in Cbus is now up for sale. Home is located north of 270 off of Sawmill Road. The location of the house is great as it has the benefit of Columbus taxes, but is in the Dublin School District. Info: Built 1981 1220 square feet 3 Bedroom 1 bath Fenced backyard 2 storage sheds 1 car garage Almost everything on the house is new within the last 4 years. Roof, vinyl siding, and water heater were replaced in 2003. New gas furnace was replaced in 2005. Inside has been completely updated. New vinyl flooring in the laundry room. New tile floor in the kitchen, freshly painted cabinets, all appliances included, new light fixture in eat in area. Living room and kitchen have cathedral ceiling. Living has new laminate flooring that extends down hallway and into 1 bedroom. Other bedroom has carpet and generous walk in closet. Bathroom has new tile, toilet, vanity, granite countertop, mirror, light fixture, fresh paint. Master bedroom is very spacious, carpet, 2 large closets, new exterior door that leads to the backyard, and newer paint. All the ceilings in the entire house have been repainted. Freshly painted walls in kitchen, living room, all bedrooms, and bathroom. Brand new 6 panel doors were installed along with all new handles and locks. All the trim was replaced throughout the house, with corner blocks, plinth blocks, and rosettes around doors. Blacktop driveway was sealed in October and is in good condition. All new landscape, including pavers, mulch, plants, bushes. Has 2 storage sheds in the backyard. One is 5x7 which I used for lawnmower, etc.. Other is 10 x 12 which we used for additional storage. The house is really in great shape and is ready for move in. New owner wouldn't need to do anything. Backyard is a decent size and fenced in which is perfect for dog owners. There really isn't anything bad I can say about the house. Neighbors are all nice, friendly, and respectable. House also used to have an alarm system. We quit using it a couple of years ago, but the alarm pad and motion sensors are there. Let me know if you have any questions. I can refer you to our realtor if you are interested in taking a look. Here is the link to the house on realtor.com : http://homes.realtor.com/realestate/columbus-oh-43235-1092648530/ It was just listed so pics aren't up yet. If you are interested, I have some on my computer I could send. Asking: $139,900 Thanks, Seth

  10. Clearing out more stuff while getting ready for the move. These items need to be gone by Sunday night, maybe Monday. I know it isn't much time, sorry. First up, a used Sony Playstation 2. I have probably had this for 4-5 years or so. I don't ever play it anymore. I've maybe used in 5 times in the last 3 years. It is the older version, the bigger one, not the slim. Includes: Console 2 sony wired controllers 1 logitech wireless controller 1 auto rf switch (switches from ps2, n64, xbox) 7 games: Tiger Woods 2005 Medal of Honor Frontline SSX Splinter Cell ATV Offroad Fury 2 Killzone NCAA Footbally 2003 Asking $110 OBO I have 2 older computer monitors. First one is made by MAG, model #786N, made 10/2002. Measures 16" diagonally. I hooked it up to my laptop and it works. I haven't used this in about 2 years. Second one is an old Gateway, model #E7006, made 9/98. Measures 16" diagonally. I also hooked this one up to my laptop and it works. This was my wife's old computer monitor and has been sitting in the closet for 5 years or so. Pics: Gateway is the white one. It is heavier and a little bigger case wise compared to the MAG. http://thumb8.webshots.net/t/63/463/1/12/66/2724112660034402248UXpxXG_th.jpg http://thumb8.webshots.net/t/60/460/3/38/46/2514338460034402248UhHsxY_th.jpg http://thumb8.webshots.net/t/63/463/9/52/58/2201952580034402248TnzDlk_th.jpg Prices: MAG $25 OBO Gateway $15 OBO
  11. I have a couple more things I need to get rid of before I move. First is a computer desk in decent shape. This desk is probably 5-6 years old and I have taken it apart and put back together 3 times. It is still in pretty decent shape. It still looks good and is fairly sturdy. I used it for a desktop, printer, scanner, etc... It is missing a few screws here and there, and a few of the screw locks don't work or are ripped out. It is by no means perfect. The pics show what the desk looks like complete. I have disassembled it into 4 main parts, the two bottom sections are still together as are the 2 top sections. The countertop is 1 whole piece. http://thumb8.webshots.net/t/55/555/0/12/15/2939012150034402248XEzNzP_th.jpg http://thumb8.webshots.net/t/24/565/4/47/4/2482447040034402248bnFeNM_th.jpg Next is a 12 gauge shotgun in ROUGH shape. My buddy gave this to me when he moved about 6 months ago. It was made by The Spesco Corporation in Atlanta Georgia (at least that is what is stamped on the barrel). As you can see in the pics the barrel is rusty, stock has a variety of scratches and marks on it, and the action/barrel is a bit wobbly in the stock. I do not know if this gun even fires. It has sat in my room for the last 6 months and I haven't touched it. Again, very rough shape, not sure if it is operable, it does break open but other than that I don't know. I know nothing about the history of this gun and I assume no responsibility for the gun.. http://thumb8.webshots.net/t/69/69/9/20/11/2213920110034402248uuKaCX_th.jpg http://thumb8.webshots.net/t/69/69/2/92/3/2089292030034402248xXiEgc_th.jpg http://thumb8.webshots.net/t/24/565/8/40/27/2917840270034402248YvjByx_th.jpg Finally, a basic computer chair. This chair came from an office. It does tilt back. Nothing special, just a chair. All the crap on the chair IS NOT included. http://thumb8.webshots.net/t/62/562/8/49/84/2448849840034402248LuEBKL_th.jpg PRICES DESK - $25 GUN - $10 CHAIR - $10 If you buy the desk, you can have the chair for FREE Everything has to be picked up by Sunday....Everything OBO... thanks
