I had to do the same thing on my BMW E36. Crazy how that snout/impeller in the block has a pretty tight tolerance!
Yea when I googled it, a ton of BMWs came up. Must be a common problem.
I was worried about prying it out, being that both the pump and housing were aluminum. But I didn't cause any damage. If I don't count the incredible difficulty I had pulling it out, the project was rather easy.

I've tried hitting it with a normal hammer as well. Really hard because of the limited space.

So I'm trying to get the pump off to change it. I got the pulley off and all 4 bolts out. Been beating the crap out of it, with a rubber mallet, to no resolve. I'm out of ideas. Any help would be appreciated..

I've been a fan of Stewart all of his career and that counts IRL as well. While my opinion is probably biased i dont think he did this on purpose and his career in no form ends today. The first car miss Ward and then Tonys got a full view of Ward with no where to go. Its racing and as we all know racing is a very dangerous sport. It's been said before but if he stays in his car he would still be alive.
