  1. http://www.jblmk3.com is making 400+ whp with a few mods, different turbo wheel, exhaust, intake, Lexus AFM, fuel pump/afr. Probably about $2k in mods.
  2. You are on the right track here. Yes the government and some people with a lot of money, ie. Hedge Funds. The government (Bush's cabinet) has never stopped increasing the Strategic Patroleum Reserve (SPR) since he got into office. Exactly the opposite of what it was intended to do. Draw from the SPR when oil prices were high or a crisis, and fill it when it was low or oil was cheap. We are currently at peak levels in the SPR. I can only ask why... to help his buddy's back in Texas make even more money? I also believe the market for oil is somewhat manipulated by large hedge funds with billion of dollars to keep buying oil. If you watch the price per barrel of oil every day, there is almost always a pump between 2:15 and 2:30 when the NYMEX closes. Why couldn't they buy the same oil earlier in the day instead of runing it up into the close? To create artificial demand. I've made and lost some money in the price of oil going up and down, but I stay out of the sector these days because the big boys rule the show and you can get burned easily.

  4. I have had a not-so-good experience with Kelly. Local shop owner friend of my sent in a 540 to be disgnose a missfire (he knew most likely the engine was overheated) but wanted the missfire diagnosed. They charged him $25 for an NGK spark plug, he could have bought for $4.50 and 2 hours of labor, and didn't even look at the missfire. They took the fan off, and never reinstalled I might add, when he was pissed about paying over $300 for no diagnosis. He will never use their service again. But he has used MAG for his Porsche and to get parts from and had positive experiences.
  5. They missed the clip of Kramer going "you think these hands have been soaking in Ivory their whole lives?" I often say, I live my life one seinfeld episode at a time...
  6. Hey it's up to you, but I got my WRX from there. I went there looking at a S2000, that was beat but somewhat cheap price. Didn't like it much but saw the WRX and the 3rd sales guy (not one of the Dotson's) handed me the keys. I honestly bought my car because he didn't care about the sale, unlike ALL of the other dealerships I had been to. Plus the car was clean with only 29k. The car ended up needing a new syncro, but I kinda of knew that with the Subaru 5 speed going in. That is why I bought a car still under warranty. Everything else on the car has performed flawlessly. Would I recommend them? I'd say go and see for yourself. If you like the car get it. Although 100+k miles on a BMW isn't so great with all the electrical problems I hear.

You can easily find tickets the day of the race, most likely for less than face value. I've gone the past few years, including last year. I go with a former co-worker that loves to get good seats, so we sit in the paddock area about 2 sections from the start/finish. But its covered so if it rains it isn't that bad. Worth it? probably not, but I love formula 1.
  9. I should have googled before I opened my mouth. http://www.doordefender.com/
  10. Not a bad idea, but the rubber would probably scratch the paint worse than the dings. I do like the land mine though.
  11. I might be getting old, but there is nothing I hate more than a carless driver or passenger that dings my car. Does anyone know any products that I can put on the side of my car that will prevent such dings? I don't care if the looks aren't pleasing because it'll be parked for long periods of time, with great potential for dings.
  12. H = block 22 = 2.2 liters a5 = version of head with vtec Nice car, I've debated many times on purchasing one... For the money back in 98-00, though I would have had a Type R. Still, the prelude is reliable and quick.

  14. Ali G would say it gave him a semi-lob one. But I've said it before; why anyone would drag race a $150k+ car is beyond me. Especially when 145 mph traps could be reached with 1/3 the money.
