Definitely hard mount it near the mirror.I do mostly highway and rural driving.I have 3 kids of my own so I am slooow in the neighborhoods and city.

I learned my lesson back in the 80's with the origanal Escort not to rely on detectors 100%.My car had the SRX in it when I bought it.I actually sold it brand new to the guy I bought the car from.I would never pay $1000.00 plus for a radar detector.

Jammers are illegal but "shifters" aren't.I have a Passport SRX so far so good.I have had it about a year and hasn't missed one yet!Knock on wood.

I would say Honda ,Toyota,Lexus and Acura are equal.I have an LS400 DD thats over the 257k mark an 85 4runner with 306k a new head as the previous owner didn't do the t-chain when he should have.My Dad has an LS400 with 347k that's still going strong.Do the maintenance and they will run a long time.My Dad plans on taking his LS400 to 500k.

I know a guy that is on his second one.The first one burned to the ground from a short in the wiring.He bought another one with a suspension bag blown and continues to work on it at least once a week for something that has went wrong.I do like the looks of themwith a snorkle and Old Man Emu Lift plus they are very capable off road.They have a group that goes to The Wilds and other places frequently.

I had a guy in my neighborhood have his Wrangler stolen out of his garage.(He left the door up).They found it by the railroad tracks near Darby Creek stuck and burned!I hate people.
