    mmm, i am not sure. most (all) are inline 6 cyl cars, so there is little variance between all 3 series and mpg figures. i would definitely opt for the manual transmission, as the auto will be $$ to replace if it goes out. the manuals are rock solid. roominess will be the same on all the 3's, if you think theres not enough, step up to the 5 series and go from there...
