Anyone have any non-student tickets for sale for the game? PM me with how many and price. Thanks!

I'm jealous of the 03/04's torque. Those numbers are awesome for the few mods.
-
Those are some pretty awesome numbers. Roots-types make evil torque. How much lower is your s/c pulley than stock? Did you have to install a boost-a-pump also? I'll give DynoTune a try next time I'm ready for a dyno tune. Passen is always booked like a rock band. Think I've seen your Cobra around before. Where's all the Mustang guys meeting at? Maybe next weekend everyone can come out and make the oil companies even richer?
-
Yeah, your Lightning is pretty awesome. What kind of turbo is on that beast?
-
The GT's are freakin' crazy with torque when they're supercharged. I played around with that 00 Powerdyne GT that Toy Barn had. I'm actually only running 6psi. I'll creep up to around 9psi on my stock block. Then, I'll have to go forged. Stock connecting rods will bend at 12psi.

A/F was set at 11.5:1, but danced around +/- .2 at the worse. Some people go to 12:1, but I prefer the safe side. Actually I have a lot of timing pulled at low end, that can be added back in. My supercharger was erroring out my knock sensor.
-
Yes and no. One of those "sniffers" that they insert in the tailpipe. Yeah actually, they raised their prices like 20%since they bought a newer dynojet.

Dyno'd the Cobra at Passen this Saturday. Great place to get a dyno done. I have the tune in pretty good shape, but need to fix the low-end torque. How does this compare with some of the other Stangs on CR? Anyone streetable with 500rwhp or more? http://24.123.56.74/junk/dyno1.jpg
-
Who keeps outbidding me? Don't know what's worse, the wheels or doors.
-
I've got tickets, if I can just get motivation. Tooning the Cobra is pretty darn fun too. Cool to know CR people are there.
-
I'll stop by. I'd like to check out the crazy T-bird. What time/place is everyone meeting at?

SVT Cobra Guy, Your ideal job is a ・who are you kidding, you work?. hahahaha.

Cool, I will check out. How is your ATI bypass system setup? Does it dump the boost to atmosphere or back to the inlet side of the charger?
-
RL, I understand what you're saying. Basically, the low end benefits of overdriving the supercharger are not worth the heat and boost relief problems at high end. I've noticed some people adamant about this pursuit have custom controllers and special "iris"-type valves on the blower intake side. Thanks for the explanation. I will probably not attempt any endeavors in this area. What is your suggestion on the bypass valve setup? Is bypassing to atmosphere a good idea to combat backwash from the ATI setup? Was thinking about a Lightning 90mm MAF as well. Would a larger MAF eliminate some backwash? Any comments are greatly appreciated.

Kewl, I'll check it out. Thanks for your help!

Crap, MSN Autos just says "OHV". I usually lookup stuff there. Most newer cars use engine oil (hydraulic) valve lash adjustment. I know some of my previous cars had a slight tick that came with age. Cars running hot got also get a valve tick sometimes. Mechanic's stethoscope (Autozone - $10) might help you pinpoint a noise. Maybe try a little thicker oil for the summer? Hope this is of at least some help.

Yep, she's got a 2-core intercooler after the supercharger. I understand what you're saying about boost curve of a centrifugal supercharger. Cool, makes sense. Thanks. I'm just trying to eliminate the bypass valve as a source of lag. That would be cool to spin the supercharger faster and maybe put a relief valve to limit boost. Did change the rear end from a 3.27 to 3.73.
-
Thanks, I think I am slowly grasping this concept. What ensures the bypass valve closes efficiently as boost builds? Doesn't the engine have to reach a high load/vol. eff. before the valve even begins to close? Trying to get SOME lag out of the car building boost. Any tricks? Am I turning this into rocket science smile.gif ?
-
Well...crap. I bet the 4.6 DOHCs are worse than a SOHC too. So, you have the same surge valve setup on your Stang too (dumps the boost when the manifold goes to a vacuum)? What would happen if I got rid of the surge valve and just put a popoff valve to limit to max boost? Kaboom?
-
Are there better alternatives to the Pro-Flo surge valve setup that comes with the ATI Procharger kits? Does this setup cause any delay in building up boost? Seems like it is taking longer than it should to build up boost. It doesn't get crazy until around 4000-4500rpm.

Good point.

There was a small happening at Speeds Go-Karts on Main Street last weekend. If I get the Slowbra back together, I might make a trip up too.
-
The Slowbra is taking me to Speeds tonight. Anyone gonna do some krazy go-kart racing tonight?

Buy the stuff and do it yourself. Shops make too much money. smile.gif If it's on your Toyota MR2, and you have around 8.8:1 compression, you should be around 185psi nominal, and 130psi service limit on your compression test. Double-check this with a local shop or manual though. I could be wrong and am being generic!!! There is also an "oil" trick where you pour 1-2 tablespoons of oil into a suspect cylinder and crank a few times. If the compression significantly improves, you can assume the leak is caused mostly by rings, rather than valves. And bad valves will cause an audible backpressure "hiss" or "putt" sometimes. And on the "oil" trick, make sure to crank the oil back out of the cylinder before you put the spark plug back!!!! Maybe this will be of some help? I'm sure there's tons of other members with good advice as well.

+1. If you go cheaper than Autometer, you might be getting junk.
