  1. Where did you read about the SRT version? And yes I agree the Caliber = ugly poo.
  2. I like it... I like it a lot... All I can say is "NICE"
  3. I passed my temp test on the first try. 3 months later I took my driving test and passed it with a perfect score. A guy I work with told me if I could go from steering lock to steering lock doing figure 8's at low speed and keep my feet off the ground then going through the cones is a cake walk. He was right.
  4. Jay Leno has 2 of them in his car collection. But looking at that brings back some bad memories. When I was 16 I flipped a brand new 1990 Festiva end for end 3 times. I went into a corner too fast and both drivers side tires popped off of the rims. The shoulder restraint broke and the front 2 bolts for the seat pulled through the floor. I came out what was left of the rear window opening on the last flip. The lap belt was still buckled.
  5. The 420 in a Neon is an interference engine design. Only a very few I have talked to said they didn'y have any visible damage. Then some people have said it trashed the pistons as well. If you do get the car take the head off and check the valves, if ok then make sure you change the water pump and tensioner for the timing belt. A friend of mine replaced his timing belt only to have the water pump lock up 3 months later( while doing about 6500rpm) causing him to go salvage yard hopping to get another head. To build a bottom end for one of these you are looking at 450 to 500 for JE pistons(compression ratings of 8.6 turbo, 9.6 stock, 10.5, 12.5 to 1 ratios)+ 350 for rods then then block machining charges, rings and gaskets. You will easily spend more money in setting up your topend. I know I recently priced everything to build a high compression engine. Thats why I am currently rebuilding my 350 in my Chevy truck and just going to change my timing belt, water pump, and tensioner in my car.
  6. I once got pulled over for having too loud of stereo...... A 1993 Escort GT with a stock system. They just do not have anything better to do, do they?
  7. Between the GS500F and the Ninja 500r..... Ninja, a little more power, less comfy, old school looks, good handling. GS500F, newer styling, more comfy, good handling, decent power. I have ridden both and bought the Suzuki, for me being 6 ft 200 lbs It fit me just fine and felt more stable and slower speeds. With me on it it will wind out to about 120 but it takes awhile from 100 to 120.
  8. If you have health insurance, why do you need it on your motorcycle insurance?
  9. 50k each person, 100k each accident, 25k property $250 deductible on comp and collision nothing against my record, but a not at fault accident on 12-31-03. wex were rear ended in our PT Cruiser. Medical coverage, can't remember?
  10. I turned 30 July 10th of last year. liability, comp, and collision all there.
  11. I still don't see why it would drop that much.
  12. Last year my bill for full coverage was $410, then this bill comes and it is $155 for the year. Ok this is the first bike I ever owned, insured, and just got my permit when I bought the bike and got the insurance. Is it because I had no experience? If I would have known that I might have got another bike. Anyone else ever had this happen?????
  13. Put that much HP in a brick and it will fly. I was in Virginia 2 years ago and seen an older Volvo 4dr sporting a supercharged 302 with a 5spd. It looked pretty good. Not as good as that though.
  14. There was a little more of an ridge than I thought. I used the ridge reamer a little more then started to hone them out. After honing out the cylinders I found one that is 4.005 and all the rest is 4.003 to 4.004. An old guy down the street told me that as long it is no more than .005 it would be alright. Should I go ahead a put it together? What do machince shops usually charge to bore and hone out a block? Anybody know any desent shops around Lancaster?
