  1. Was going to post some last drag days YouTube's but don't remember how on this site and seems kinda pointless to put time into figuring it out at this point haha. Enjoy regular links haha filmed on a toaster circa 07-08

  2. This may have happened anyway, but the response to this mess is pathetic. Kinda shows what you get when you have a weak, confused old man as a president. He just armed one of our most hated enemies with more military gear than 85% of established countries…for free…

Trump would be sending tweets and dropping bombs. All I’ve seen Biden do is run away from pressers and read what could have been a powerful message from a teleprompter. Really man? You can’t say that you would defend the US and hunt down the people responsible without reading it from a tele like an 3rd grader?

I wanted to watch that speech and be pumped for Biden. I hoped this was the moment that would define his presidency in a good way. I want him to do well because that’s good for America. It’s just so disappointing. He had the moment and it passed him by.

And now we'll be taking questions from a small hand selected group of people who were instructed what to ask

  3. Couple years ago I bought my son a 20 gauge Mossberg 500 combo that came with a cantelever barrel and truglow scope along with the smooth barrel. I have a rem 870 in 12 gauge. I use his gun more than I use my own. With Hornady SST slugs is as accurate as just about any gun I've ever shot. It's a tack driver. My youngest son will be getting one in the next year or two.
  4. In about 96 when I started driving back in my home of Marietta Ohio we had lifted trucks, lights, etc and got harassed by the cops all the time and got warnings, tickets for bumper height, uncovered off-road lights etc.

They seemed to stop the harassment after 2000 and now I see those stupid Carolina squat trucks running all over with way to many lights turned on and 40" front bumpers heights rolling coal while the rear is dragging the ground. Stupidest shit ever. Maybe it's just cause I'm in the south.

I agree....looks stupid. I will say though that it's definitely not the first dumb fad and won't be the last. I've seen the air shock/shackle fad with wide tires that stuck 2" outside the rear fender wells, fart can mufflers, wings, etc etc. The squat stuff too shall pass and it'll be some other dumb fad.

  5. An unpopular opinion but, I honestly don't feel bad for the diesel tuning industry in the slightest. For the longest time they were really reckless and it lead to this "rolling coal" bro culture that is just bad for everybody.

I don't think diesel tuning will stop - if there is money to be made then it will find a way to be made, but hopefully this approach from the EPA will force the diesel tuning industry to innovate in the emissions equipment area and be more responsible about it rather than just churning out more shitty bro-dozers. I mean it worked for the OEM's so why not the aftermarket?

It's frowned upon by most even in the diesel world these days. I'd say there's a far greater number of gas burners on the road tooling around without cats. What about commercial diesels? Ever see those guys going up an on ramp with a heavy trailer? If a strict smog testing policy was brought back how many on the board would fail? I don't feel sorry for just the diesel guys.....I feel sorry for every hot rod guy out there because this won't end with just the diesel guys.

  6. That was the same thought when I had mine. I just did a simple wet kit and like Wags said, I did the plate. No need for extra stuff like injectors or anything crazy. I kept it mild around 100 and I did pull timing in the tune but I also did the resistor trick on the IAT to "enable" that so it was normal timing until I armed the kit. I'm sure there are much better solutions now than there were back 20ish years ago when the only tuning solution was LS1 Edit.

Just do your research and go with what you feel safe doing. Always keep in mind that it's a gamble, but you have that with any power adder.

Haha...I remember the ls1 edit days. That's what I started on.

  7. I have 3.73's in a 12 bolt and a converter now. I run 93 all the time and would pull probably 4-5 degrees at least. I'd have to look at the tune to be sure where my timing is these days. 98's were pretty aggressive factory at 28 degrees but seems like I added 1 or 2 to that. Been a long time since I've really looked at my tune. I have some stuff to research and look at.
  8. Thanks for the replies. Gives me something to think about. I'll ask around out here and see if there's a place that fills bottles. Seems I get to about this point every time and start seeing all the downside and end up talking myself out of it haha.

I could go to a bigger cam and go faster but work/reward for that kinda sucks. I have a 228r in it now so definitely could gain some since that's a smaller type cam but like I say.....work/reward sucks going that route.

  9. What these guys said. On my old car though (02 Camaro) I just put on a 75-100 shot, used a resistor to pull timing and prayed the motor didn't let go. I got extremely lucky it never did but I only hit the giggle button a handful of times.

You can do it fast and cheap but in the long run you'll end up buying a new motor sooner or later. I can't count the number of engines I've seen drop a few rods at the track because someone just slapped on a quick kit for easy speed.

That's kind of a concern but I'm pretty sure I could get away with a 100 shot for awhile. Hell....I only drive the car a handful of times a year as it is. Even if the motor did let go that would just motivate me to do an LQ9.

I know about the plugs, timing, and tuning. I already have a racetronix fuel pump with hotwire. I also have hptuners and tune myself. I've looked at kits a few times over the years and always talk myself out of it. This time I think I might do it. I want to go a little faster and short of starting over with boost spray makes the most sense. I was looking at a plate kit from nitrous outlet. I just want sure how hard it'll be to refill bottles and things like that.

  10. Been looking at kits. Not completely sure I'm going to do one yet but for now just trying to do my homework. Just thinking of doing a smaller shot....like max of 100. I live in Lancaster...is there a place close to get bottles filled? How long does a 10# bottle last and what does it cost to get them filled? It would see very limited use after the initial "new toy" thing. Just looking to add more speed to the car....have had the heads/cam for years now and kinda bored with it. Car is a 98 formula.
  11. So this has puzzled me for many a year... I still am no closer to coming to a conclusion, after many arguments that is. I don't think it can, others 100% think it will.

If you have a plane trying to take off whilst on a tread mill which will run at the same speed as whatever the planes tires rotation speed is will it take off?

I'd like to just see the treadmill

  12. The smaller diesels are interesting for sure. What's the payload and tow ratings for your truck as optioned? Payload was the main limiter for me when I was looking at trucks. 5 people in a semi optioned truck then dropping a 1400# 5th wheel hitch in there didn't play nice with payload. The other issue I have is repair costs. That reason alone makes me want to get a different camper so I can go to a gas truck. Diesels are ungodly expensive to fix.
  13. The reforms I have seen suggested are that a platform could only remove posts that were deemed illegal (but not "objectionable" material), and that rules for moderation would have to be published and followed by the platform, as well as punishing platforms that moderate in a biased way.

Here's a good summary of all the positions: https://www.theverge.com/21273768/section-230-explained-internet-speech-law-definition-guide-free-moderation

IMHO, I would like some social media BETTER if comments and "sharing" were limited or eliminated in some cases. It would limit the spread of misinformation and eliminate an extremely toxic part of the internet.

What about mainstream media and it's spread of misinformation? I don't trust information I get from anyone these days. I no longer watch the news for anything other than the weather.....and even the weather can be misinformation haha. Wish there would be just one credible source of unbiased reporting out there....I would like to know the news but I want the actual news. Not someone's opinion of the news.

  14. There needs to be a mass exodus of Facebook and Twitter. They need to go the way of myspace. I've never done facebook. I signed up for it years ago and saw right away it wasn't something I was interested in so deleted it and never looked back.
  15. I had been blaming my fatigue on being old (38) and fat, but I'm really wondering now. We had Covid in late July, and while I was only hot hard for about 3 days, the fatigue was ridiculous. I walk a lot of stairs at work, as when I get called the elevator is broken.

Buildings I've walked a dozen times with my tool backpack, exhaust me now. I have really been struggling to get any intensity in my workouts, it's frustrating.

I'm determined to get it back, and looking into anti-inflammatory supplements for brain and heart.

That doesn't surprise me. I've talked to several people that have had it and months later are still a little off one way or the other. There's definitely an age aspect and severity of infection to it. At this point I'm just thankful I didn't get the respiratory issues from it because that really worried me. I had a lung infection 2 years ago that did a number on my lungs....they haven't been the same since so I was worried. I can deal with the fatigue and brain fog....I didn't want to have to cart an oxygen tank around which is what my older brother is doing now after he got it.
