  1. How are those fully functioning video drivers? You should atleast have all the hardware working in it before you claim you're running at full potential.
  2. The PowerPC in the eServers is a bit more advanced than the G5 which comes in the Mac. The new quad-core p5+ stuff is dope shit.
  3. The BlueGene/L is PowerPC. That being said don't hand the crown to x86 so easily a lot of the stuff coming out of IBM and Sun is still quite a ways ahead of x86 server hardware. The x86 vendors are catching up in large chunks but the market for the other systems hasn't gone away. Only about 5% of new installs (unix) coming out of my group at work are on x86 hardware. The main chunk is Solaris still and with Solaris 10 and the new niagara boxes it may pick up some more share from the AIX/PPC and x86/Linux offerinings.
  4. I also have an athlon based pc. Its an XP 2000+ with 512MB of ram. -SOLD-
  5. Have a number of computer related items for sale IOGEAR USB 2 Port KVM switch Model #GCS632U - I've been using this thing for about a year and it works flawlessly. $30 Linksys WRK54G Wireless-G Broadband Router w/ 4 Port Switch - I got this for a deal with a pcmcia and pci wireless card bundle and used it for a while but I don't have any use for it anymore. $20 2 x 256 PC2100 200 Pin SODIMM for a laptop. Samsung Memory P/N 268043-001 - Upgraded my laptop to 1GB recently so I have the two memory sticks I pulled out of it. $20 each 1U Sun Microsystems Netra T1 105 Server - 440Mhz Ultrasparc IIi CPU, 1GB Memory, 2 36GB Seagate Cheeta Drives (ST336704LCV), Solaris 10 installed - This was my one of my old coloed mail/shell servers. Gli

For an example the mk2 I was talking about above has about 13k total into it including the car and its not complete. Its at 22psi right now which is basically fucking retarded and makes ~325hp. It hasn't been run at the track since the turbo upgrade was done but it did a 13.90 on the stock turbo with a street tune on the stand alone. A lot of money for not a lot of return, owner wants to sell it and buy a mustang. ;-)

I'll sell you a mk2 gti with a 1.8T, SEM, and a custom turbo kit if you're looking to go fast {ish} with a VW.
  9. Not as interesting as the paris pic by any means but still an interesting shot of our fair city at night. ( credit to my friend craig for the shot ) http://users.cofront.net/~jweber/pics/downtown1.jpg

    Gli

Most of the issues with the coil packs were resolved by the time the gli with the 1.8T came out as the "new" parts everyone was getting replaced were stock equipment by then. I also don't know how you expect your warranty to be covered when you modify your car from original spec and something breaks. I agree the two things may not be related, but what would you do if the situation was reversed and you had someone show up for warranty service because their car was broken and they had a bunch of modifications? First blame for all the issues will go to the modifications, based on the "whats changed that could cause these problems?" troubleshooting methodology. Now on to my suggestion, if you're looking for something to modify and be "fast" in you might as well pick a new car unless you're ready to spend some serious money and still only be sorta quick. If you're still stuck on the vw get the vr6, you will be a lot more happy in the long run and imho more reliable although it won't look as slick as the gli.
  11. I have the Innovate LM-1 with the rpm kit. It works pretty well however the software leaves something to be desired. Haven't had time yet to crack open the datafiles and try doing my own interpretation, but the guides say its doable.
  12. VwVortex still spews crap. It really depends on what kind of information you're looking for honestly. Even the local forums are just an extension of the info that circles the 'tex. Just don't take what you read as gospel and use some common sense and you will be fine. These should get you started. http://forums.vwvortex.com http://www.ohiovw.com/forums http://www.dubohio.com http://www.swov.org http://forums.vwsport.com http://www.vwfixx.com/forums
  13. I have turbotax for OS X, dunno if that would be helpful or not (I doubt it).
