  1. 2007 Pontiac G6 GT Hard-Top convertible. 146,000 miles. 3.5 liter v6 motor. New rear main seal, new timing gasket cover, new intake manifold gasket, new intake plenum gasket, new valve cover gaskets, new LED headlights and headlight housing. New front shocks and lower control arm. Monsoon 6 disk stereo, no engine lights and everything runs and drives as it should. Cold A/C and hot heat. I have noticed a slight oil leak  where it drips a little on the garage floor... I'm honestly not sure where it's coming from but it's not leaking enough to have to add any oil in between oil changes. It also has a creak in the front passanger side suspension somewhere. I've replaced all of the components so I'm assuming something needs greased. It's a fun summer car that will do fine in the winter. Wife just wanted an SUV so she now rocks an MKX. I'm tired of paying insurance and title fees on a car that sits. Someone come buy this car and enjoy the hell out of it. I'd feel comfortable with driving it anywhere.

  2. I'm sad to see the change, but I think I understand why working with the old tech has now brought us to this. Props to Chris and all the administrators and mods for devoting so much time over the last two decades to give us this forum. Your efforts have brought a lot of enjoyment and benefit to literally thousands of people and you are much appreciated.

I believe most of us see that our group is generally older, less nocturnal, and less car-crazy than in the early days. That in itself wouldn't be a problem if we had new, younger members joining, but that isn't happening. Most feel that it's generally true that the younger generation is less into cars in general, but there are likely other reasons why CR hasn't attracted more.

Although I'm far from tech-savvy, I wonder if a platform such as Discord would preserve a lot of what we like about CR, with much less cost and very little administrator time needed? I leave it to those of you who know much more about such things than I do to debate whether that would be feasible and desirable. I would think it would have an added plus of being more familiar and accessible to younger car enthusiasts than our current format.

For me, the best thing about Columbus Racing has always been the people. The spirit of this group isn't going to die until we ourselves die. The way we communicate with each other is going to transition, but managed correctly, it can be a means to enhance and grow CR.

nail on the head... Some of us still own fast cars but they are just collecting dust... I mean my Camaro just sits on the lift collecting dust, I never drive it anymore.

  3. I have a 2010 Chevy Cobalt 4 door 217k miles... it needs a new axle that I have sitting here that I might try to put in this weekend. Only other issue with it is that it has an exhaust leak that it's just too damn cold to get under it to fix. It's not too bad yet but you can tell that it has one. It has new brakes, new tires, etc... I don't really want to get rid of it though until end of the month or early next month as it's my beater until I get my new car that I'm slated to pick up Feb 12th. It runs well, A/C works, Heat works... it was my daughters car that I bought off of her when she decided that she finally got her first big girl job and wanted to take out a car loan for a new car.
