  1. Been pricing some new vettes and have been wondering about the rear eLSD you get if you order the Z51 package.

Is it worth it? Is it more robust? Downstream issues if I mod? Does it really noticably improve performance?

Any C7 owners on here able to chime in? (also been lurking the vette forums)

  2. These will only be available on the 1SS- not the fully optioned 2SS.

If I understood the chevy "build your own" webpage, you can put every option on the 1SS that you can on the 2SS? One just packages them up some and nets you a savings with the bundle?

  3. In other news: Ford just announced the GT350 is now going to be given the Track pack option as standard for 2017s. Magneto-ride, engine, oil and tranny coolers, blowjob, etc.... With an almost assured bump in the base price. Which will go on sale right after the LEs will hit showrooms.

    Back to parity excepting rubber.

The GT350 will also get the spoiler from the R, which is purely for looks, and imo not really something I want actually. Which just leaves the rear seat delete, splitter, carbon wheels and some other bibbobs separating it from the R.

We're down to "less-than-one-year" domination at this point back and forth. Crazy times.

EDIT: Wait WHAT? Competition orange is being removed as a color option?!?!??!

    FUCK YOU FORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. No effing way these things will roll out the door for under $50k unless you strip the ever loving bejeezus out of them.

Hell you can't even get an SS *NOW* for under $47k that doesnt suck ass in the option dept.

These will be approaching $60k optioned normally, before markup.

... then wait 9 months and they'll be $2k under sticker. That's when you pounce.

  5. That would be cool. If they price it right that'd be real attractive.

Given the Z/28's previous price I had no problem understanding why the things languished on dealer lots. Just step up to a vette and save many pennies to boot.

...then there lurks the Caddies while nobody's watching. heh.

  6. Annnd then the 2017 GT350 outperforms the LE. Annnd then the 2018 LE performs the .....

Its a good time to be an American muscle fan.

(Then the GT500 crashes the party. Z28 time? This whole interchange makes me happy)

+1 on Ford making odd tire choices.

  7. Spoiler definitely looks better than the wing. I like how that shapes the rear profile.

Still - really bugging me that optioned out these damn things are well into the $50k range.

Might as well get a GT350 when you're there. bah

Maybe just wait til summer and hope they're sitting on lots around a holiday sale like memorial day or 4th of july? .....

  9. The 2014 mustang interior totally turned me off. Sat down in one of those too trying to talk myself into liking it all the way to the dealership. Nope.

The 2015 really stepped it up.

So when I saw pics of the 2016 Camaro's interior I was like "hmm, I could dig that, lemme check it out". I was very sad face yesterday. I really wanted to like that car. I was ready to buy.

  10. I watched a couple of Head2Head's on YouTube yesterday regarding the '16 Camaro SS and Mustang GT, and the thumping GT350R and Z/28...I gotta say that as much as I love my CTS-V I was reminded that GM still uses shitty plastic in their interiors. I'd wait for a GT350 with dat 5.2L Voodoo over a new Camaro all day long.

This. Getting impatient waiting for the Shelby craze to die down for a reasonable sticker. Went and sat in a 16 Camaro over the weekend. Really REALLY wanted to make myself like that car. I was all set to like it and buy one and forget waiting.

    Then I touched the dash.................

    *waiting*

  11. You're not real good at analysis are you?

1 - Suggesting a different car. Not confusing the SS with the Camaro SS

    2 - Suggesting a different year. ditto

    3 - Dig at GM

Don't worry, its you, and its ok. This is a judgement free zone. Lets move on to the topic at hand - which is everyone here working hard to get me what I want, which is all anyone can ask - instead of watching you try to dig a slippery way out of your one tiny assumption-laden comment faux pas. I like you. Hugs.

  12. A. You called it the wrong car.

    B. Magazines have said for decades how if all you want is the performance, you can get it for XX,XXX. The press cars are always optioned up. Mustangs are the same way.

    C. Welcome to cars, and buying new.

    A. I called it what it is. It's not my fault GM decided to badge a rental fleet turd from down under wrong. You seem to have been the only one here confused I was talking about an actual car and not an uber taxi.

    B. Loaded. Strippers are for fools.

    C. Pretty sure I've been buying new cars since before you were buying cars. Easy on the assumptions there jr.

  13. I'm also assuming that OP was confusing the prices on the SS, which are discounted, sometimes heavily, to be a Camaro SS. LOLOLOL

That's the only way I'd expect a discount on a brand new Camaro, is if I got them confused.

    ...

I didn't confuse anything. 16 Camaro SS - ALOT of interwebz/blogosphere/journalist blather about how they're havable for in the $30s which is bs unless you want a stripped shitter.

$48 for anything that doesnt suck cock (aka non stripper).

I priced out a 16 Camaro 1SS with no options for 38k. I just know I would want leather, heated seats, blah blah blah and then it is suddenly 48k for the 2SS. My 2011 will have to do for a while.

    this. will wait.
