  1. Something tells me with a screen name like Alfa Turbo, he might be a little biased.

That said, all cars break, unless they sit in the garage and never move they’ll break, even then they rot and break as soon as you drive them.

All I have is hearsay in regards to Alfa, it’s hard to tell how much is true when they aren’t popular and have an old reputation for failure. If they want to sell a bunch of cars they need to follow the Hyundai/Kia method of stupid long warranties so people won’t worry so much about buying on.

A little biased or EXTREMELY knowledgeable! :) I have owned 6 Alfa Romeo's, both new and old.

Re-read my post, I am not an Alfa fan-boi. The biggest problem with Alfa's then and now is a weak dealer service network.

Full disclosure my daily is a G90.

  2. Alfa's have always been reliable cars. It has been the dealers, or owners, who do not know how to service them that has been the issue you have witnessed as reliability.

That said they are thoroughly modern cars made by Italians, so look at Fiat, which is what they really are, for reliability reports. The last real Alfa Romeo in this country was the Milano from 1988 and the SZ in yurrup.

I test drove one, very nice motor, modern electronics. A little small for a daily (for me) and near impossible for my frame to get in the back seat. Alfa is bringing back the Alfetta sedan which will be larger and the GTV coupe which is rumored to have 600 gas and electric horsepowers.

  3. Could they rip Audi's design off any more? That interior is pretty much copy/paste of the current A4/A5. Front end looks like a Audi, rear looks like a Merc.

You have it backwards. Audi ripped off Hyundai.

Audi's grill was always a rounded 4 side rectangle. Hyundai uses a six-sided hexagon rather like an elongated Superman badge. After Peter Schreyer (original designer at Audi and did first TT) left Audi and went to... Kia/Hyundai he refined the brand and widened the grill. Audi soon followed suit and changed from a 4 sided grill to the now hexagonal shape similar to Hyundai/Genesis.

Audi's are FAR more common so I guess folks see more Audis and think they were first but they weren't.

Now, Schreyer did use a lot of A8 interior cues in the G90, especially in the center stack. More elegant in the 90's and a little more techno in the A8.

  4. That's what I've heard as well. Frankly, I could do without them, too many kids and drunk idiots running around on those things. I understand that it's a UA tradition but, ugh.

For whatever reason golf cart drivers seem to think laws apply less to them than they do to cyclists. I guess that could be extrapolated.

Law does not apply...........................................................................Law does apply

bmw drivers -> golf carts -> skateboarders -> cyclists -> motorcyclists -> all other cars

  5. Sister was on UA Civic committee for UA parade. She tells me the golf carts are not legal anytime of the year, the po-po just looks the other way on the 4th as long as you are not being "that guy". I'd love to have a golf cart for trips to grocery or for filling the gas cans but I 'aint moving to FLA just for that. Too many agalators.
  6. In my experience temperature and atmospheric differences are negligible. If you do the math at ambient temperature or 250*C the affect on the length of pipe caused by the speed of sound at those two temperatures is almost nothing. Many factory "mufflers" at the rear are actually a muffler on one side and a cavity on the other with a resonance tube. 4 Cylinders will require the longest resonance tubes and 8 cylinders the shortest.
  7. Hey, Matt...you bring up a good point. I've got a good amount of cabin noise in my BMW from a crack in the pipe near the catalytic converter. Since it's a '95 (pre-OBDII and no downstream O2 sensor after-cat) I'm looking at cutting the cat out and replace it with straight-pipe or a resonator.

I've researched "j-pipes" in the past and appreciate the physics that make it work. From your experience, can you put a j-pipe anywhere in the exhaust system to make a difference? Like, does it have to be further downstream or can one be installed closer to the header?

Anywhere. Calculate the length of the standing wave (the frequency of the drone) and attach a tube 1/4 of that length anywhere along the exhaust. It's magic.

  8. I bought a pair of the Parrot Zik 3's and love them (Amazon). Unsure if you want a kid sporting these as they are a bit pricey..

Also had two pair of the Beats headphones (Solo's and Studios) and they are pretty much bullet proof. Would really focus in on Bluetooth as we all know the new iPhones do not have a 3.5mm plug. Plus Samsung is rumored the next one (Assume S8) will be removed.

LOVE my Parrot Ziks! Use them mostly for air travel but they are incredible for just listening to music.

  9. I did not imagine it went SO deep. It explains CNNMSNBCCBSABCNYT, they are literally bought an paid for.

Also, did not realize they trade in cash AND children. Sick how the Saudis provide kids for the pedo-circus these people like to attend. When the simple question was asked is Bill a pedo and he just said, "Yes". I was like, ahhhh, that is why they are friends with Wiener.

    Crazy chit all around.
