  1. Alright god damnit I bought the F303 instead of the 1.7 rockers. Fucking peer pressure.

So, question: Cometic MLS gaskets or FelPro 9333? Assuming if the block doesn't explode, I'd like to run some boost next year.

    You people.

I ordered a Mahle gasket kit for mine. I have no plans for boost on this car.

  2. Bit the bullet on all that shit. :) Went with the aluminum SVE heads, 1.7 rockers, stock cam but new lifters and pushrods, Explorer GT40 upper and lower, BBK ceramic shorties (since it already has a BBK off road H pipe, why bother), 70mm TB, and that 48# injector/maf/pump package, plus a bunch of supporting shit. With the electric fans it should be a pretty good street machine. Gonna use MLS gaskets and studs so I can add a blower later if I want to explode the transmission and/or block.

Thanks for all the advice, guys! Been a long time since I even thought about Windsor work.

Brian Turner, if you're reading this, I'll see you in a couple months.

I'd do a B cam or trick flow stage 1 to get the benefit of those heads.

  3. Nice. I miss living near you, you could powdercoat all my shit. :) I could do it in the oven but Christine would kill me...

I'm pretty close to pulling the trigger on most of this. Picked up the GT40 upper and lower last night, got a great deal. Still looking hard at these SVE aluminum heads, hard to turn down for $800.

For sure on those heads. I just happens to get my gt40p heads on trade for some powdercoating, so it was s no brainer

I've pretty much powdercoated every part I have removed so far, if it could be coated, I painted it.

I'm waiting on the valve spring kit to show up so I can start reassembling everything

  5. ...and actually, the more I think about the cam, as much as I love the idea of the F303, the hills around here are brutal. I'm not keen on lowering the quality of off-idle drivability for a pure street car. Seems like folks make block-splitting power on the stock cam anyway. Maybe when I blow the block up...

The 92 convertible I'm redoing got gt40p heads, explorer upper and lower intake (I mildly ported), b303 cam, new valve springs, 70mm TB.

I'll do full exhaust and a tune and call it a day

    Will be a nice cruiser

  6. I think I've decided to go with an Explorer GT40 upper and lower, GT40 or GT40P heads, and keep the stock cam. With the supporting gaskets/studs, valvetrain, and fuel upgrades, should be good for 400HP on ~6-8lbs. Will try not to blow up my T5 or stock block. Will come see Brian for a tune.

Not in a hurry though. Gonna keep an eye out for good deals.

    F303 cam with dat turbo

  7. Yeah, GT350 Intake Manifold allows for proper air flow up at the elevated rpms over stock. However, that's really only the route you'd take on a s550 chassis, as it fits under the stock strut brace and provides great results. It's the way I'll be going if/when I do engine mods.

The Cobra Jet IM is the king of power, and if you aren't space limited, would be the ultimate. There are also a slew of aftermarket ones either out or coming out too, I know Hoblick had a Holley on one of his s550s...

The Holley makes power up too as well, may not be as much as a CJ setup or GT350 mani, but it's 1/2 to 1/3 the price, and your not loosing much power vs. money you save. Most likely I'll do a Holley on the motor that goes in the notch.

  8. It sounds perfect, the only thing I wonder about is the size of the engine. Coyote swaps haven't really caught on with the 60's ford crowd because it requires massive front end surgery (removing the shock towers and re-engineering the front suspension), is it the same kind of challenge in a fox body?

Swapped into a fox is easy peasy, tubular k member and your good to go.

  9. That's a cool little sleeper. nice score.

Just curious, why a coyote swap and not an LS?

Everyone LS swaps everything no thanjs.

I want a 8000rpm screamer, the coyote is just the perfect platform. It's a insanely stout motor stock form (my 15 is making some crazy power on an all stock motor), sound amazing, can easily be mated to a T56, and will make the power I intend to make for the car in stock form

  10. Shocks/struts from 2015 Performance pack GT Mustang

    $150

BMR front lowering springs for 2015+ mustang $50

Stock 2015 GT intake manifold (complete with rails, injectors, sensors, etc.) $200

Take off 79-93 Mustang GT front spindles, hubs, rotors, calipers, pads $75 for everything

White 4 lug pony wheels with tires, tires are in great shape $300

    79- 93 v8 4 lug mustang rear axles, drum brakes. $75

  11. Me and my buddy have been putting together a sim racing rig, we have been splitting the cost on stuff, and I have been doing all the fabricating (lol making it up as I go)

We got a great deal on a Fanatec wheel base, wheel, pedal set on Black Friday online.

I had an old Go Kart chassis laying around, so it's only natural to combine them.

I went back to the stock seat in my mustang, so I had the Sparco seat just sitting, threw that in there as well.

I mounted the pedals inverted for better feel.

My other good friend scored me a free 48" monitor to use.

Had a buddy give me a small roll of black automotive carpet that I put on the floor.

I ended up buying a cheap RCA 5.1 surround sound to mount in the rig. It has a sub, but it's terrible.

Scored a free bazooka tube powered sub, I will be installing that behind the driver seat.

Using an Xbox one for the gaming platform.

There are some other things I want to do to the rig still, to make it more finished, tuck all wires, clean everything up, paint, etc.

We picked up a Thrustmaster TH8a shifter today on sale, and will be ordering the adapter to make it work with the Fanatec wheel base, and order the Fanatec load cell add on pedal.

A handbrake will be in the future as well.

It's a blast to use as it sits now, but it will get better.
