  1. Well, it looks like it may rain....if so I will post a rain date if we get one.
  2. Hey Guys, A group of us Deputies have the track rented this Friday. We still have a few slots open and would like to invite you to join us. The cost is $25.00. Tech is at 2pm, racing starts at 3pm. Track opens to the public at 6pm, at which time they will give us our own staging lane. Please PM me for further details if your interested. John
  3. I really like it....Going to tow my '69 Camaro to the Trails this Friday with it. I might even take it for a pass or two up the track.
  4. Yeah, I did get rid of the 02 Camaro. I also got rid of my 03 Avalache, and 02 Cavalier. I got the Truck, and a Malibu LT for my wife. My payments went down and my insurance went down. I will now have extra money to put into the 69 SS, and a truck to haul it. As for the truck, I wanted something I could drive year round, tow my camper with, and have fun in. Stock they only run High 14's, but at 5300lbs curb weight thats not too bad. Add a supercharger, cam, headers, & exhaust and BLAM!

  11. Talk to Maro about it. He helped me with mine when I first got it.....he's very knowledgeable when it comes to old Camaros.
  12. Second Saturday of every month there is a Cruise-in at Roosters on West Broad St.
  13. Looks like something Ronald McDonald would drive. Very ugly! graemlins/thumbsdown.gif
  14. does it matter if Ricart(which subs body/paint work out anyway) any paint shop, my cousin paints the bumper, as long as it is done right? I am not trying to start an arguement or a debate over this, its already been done on the SVT forum. If it were my car, YES, it would matter. I only trust certain people, places, to do work on my cars. Look at it this way, if someone f's up your car, wouldn't you feel better having someone else who has always done you right fix it? Accidents, mistakes, happen....Oh well. The point is the Deputy was happy with the original argeement and would have given him a chance to fix it. He decided to change the agreement and that is why the Deputy took his car back.
  15. I work with this Deputy. I have seen the damage done to his car. All I have to say on this is if someone entrusts you with a vehicle to do work on it, and something happens to that vehicle (whether you do it directly, or someone you sub-contract does it) you should fix the vehicle the way the owner wishes it to be fixed, not fix it the cheapest way possible. Yes, he and the shop owner had an agreement. He was happy with this agreement. I remember telling him it sounds like the shop owner is really trying to make it right. Had the shop owner stuck to his original agreement with this Deputy of allowing Ricart to paint the bumper, and had he of started to work on the car all would have been well. Keep in mind this was a brand new car with 912 miles on it. Wouldn't you want your car fixed by someone you trust?
  16. Glad to hear you got it straightened out. BTW How'ed the car turn out?
  17. The proper mix ratio is: 1 gal of paint, 3 quarts of reducer, and 1 pint of hardner...this can very slightly with air temp, surface temp, and humidity. I always use a fisheye eliminator in the paint also, usually by the time you find out you need it its too late. It can save you from starting over at square one. The primer color can greatly effect the final color outcome. Be sure to use the same color primer as is on the rest of the vehicle. Looking for rock chips that are down to the primer is usually the easiest way to find out. Also, if you are primering over bare metal you must use a metal conditioning system prior to primering if you want the paint to stick. At the very least you should wipe the surface down with a mixture of 10 parts water, 1 part white distilled vinegar to etch the surface.(this will cause what appears to be a light rust on the surface of the metal) Then use 360 grit or finer sandpaper to remove the haze. I recommend an Epoxy Primer/Catalyst. It can be used as a primer, or reduced as a sealer, thus saving you from buying both. Sorry if this is more info then you wanted, and Good Luck with your hood smile.gif .
  18. § 4549.13 Motor vehicles used by traffic officers. Text of Statute Any motor vehicle used by a member of the state highway patrol or by any other peace officer, while said officer is on duty for the exclusive or main purpose of enforcing the motor vehicle or traffic laws of this state, provided the offense is punishable as a misdemeanor, shall be marked in some distinctive manner or color and shall be equipped with, but need not necessarily have in operation at all times, at least one flashing, oscillating, or rotating colored light mounted outside on top of the vehicle. The superintendent of the state highway patrol shall specify what constitutes such a distinctive marking or color for the state highway patrol. HISTORY: GC § 12616; 118 v 271; Bureau of Code Revision, 10-1-53; 133 v H 625 (Eff 11-21-69); 138 v S 141. Eff 10-25-79. As for the search issue, an officer may search your person and any area under your immediate control (ie, within your reach). This falls under a Terry Search. If your car is impounded they can search the entire vehicle.
  19. Thanks guys for the advice, I have a test light and will see what I can find out.
  20. I'm working on a 1975 Corvette, and the battery keeps going dead on it overnight. I put a new alternator on it, even though the old one was charging fine. Its not the battery, I've tried different ones. Its not the starter, I've replaced it. I've checked all of the obvious stuff, but I must be over-looking something. Any suggestions?????
