if you had a different year car, id recommend getting a replacement from a junk yard. if i can recall correctly a 2005 Chevrolet's radio is vin locked, so you'd have to take the junk yard radio to the dealer to unlock it before installing it. who knows what they'd charge for that. if it was me I'd install a decent alpine or pioneer. Is it a bose system? the $99 adaptor is used to cure issues that can be experienced when disconnecting something from a vehicle's canbus system. gm had a press release saying that removing the factory radio in a gm car could cause airbag failure. I dont know if I believe it, but it is possible i guess. There is an adaptor that does the bose system as well, but it requires a radio with front and rear outputs to function- so keep that in mind when you're looking.

i got my quote today its gonna be cheaper than my deductible to fix... called my agent and switched my deductible to 250 ... adding only 8 bucks to my monthly payment... the gentleman that gave me the quote told me they'll raise my rates if I appear frivolous with my claims... right now if I run it through insurance it will cost them maybe $20 over my deductible it depends on wether or not they need to blend the paint onto my hood or not... if they don't need to blend it onto the hood then it will only cost about $350 or so.

A hit an run... After enjoying a great turkey day I had the joy of walking out to my car to find a big fat dent in the driver's quarter. It was strange because the way he parked made people trying to get through almost take my mirror off. sad part is that my deductible is kinda high ($500) and it will be a few weeks before i can afford to have it fixed... I'm headed to howard street garage tomorrow to get a quote... anyone recommend a good shop?

you just have to follow the instructions word for word... dont skip steps, and read all the programming instructions first. some cars have special instructions, so pay attention. some new mazdas have both the tx wire and a wire that needs grounded if you need help or assistance pm me

It's called "Smart Start" by directed (viper) and it allows basically anyone with an iphone or ipod touch(on wifi) to unlock or remote start their car from anywhere... its free for a year then $25 a year after purchase... retails @ 500 bucks and is suspected to sell out better is the "xm skydock" which turns an iphone into an xm radio

i had the orange 6 b4 it was cool mine is lowered a bit on eibach http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=416&pictureid=3051 twins! if you are planning on lowering it, the 05 year had a bit of different setup that can cause the front to be a bit higher than what is specified for it. Like 1" which isn't bad, but can cause the drop to look kinda funny... like the rear is sagging. I have said gap difference, and unless your looking for it... you'd never know....
