  1. No it's not, they have been doing the horizontal methods in the Barnett since the late 80's. They just have new technology that makes it more economical, which is turn is bringing it to the idiots in this area.
  2. And it all goes back to issues that come with a "boom". We have not divested into this area at all. We are heavy in Barnett and Woodland. I have no interest in getting into this "run of idiots" as a lot of us call it. The biggest difference between the booms out west and what we get here is experience. When they open up a new formation or it becomes economically feasible, the experience is already there. It's no biggie for them to just move to a new field. Around here you just have a bunch of idiot's doing it on the fly and are really going to fuck things up.
  3. Very cost prohibitive. And yeah, they are way short on experienced people. The problem is Chesapeake is runinng the show, but no one wants to come up from Oklahoma and Texas to work.
  4. Yeah. There are a few companies in Texas that have done thousands upon thousands of wells and have 0 confirmed issues. Problem is, you can't get those guys to leave and come to this area to work. They are booming enough as it is there. Same thing in the Dakotas.
  5. Why do people think they are doing it on purpose? The company we use for fracking has done over 3,000 wells and has never had a problem. When everything is cased correctly there is no issue. It's almost all human error. That is why there is only about 4 companies in Texas and Oklahoma that have been around for a while. Fracking isn't new. They have been doing it in Texas for damn near 50 years. It's these shitty fly by night companies trying to get in on the boom that are fucking things up.
  6. Own land, lease mineral right to landman, collect royalties.
  7. I think OSU should schedule a 13th game with Hawaii next year in December. The same weekend as the Championship game LOL
  8. Makes you wonder if the NCAA was threatening more if OSU didn't promise to not appeal.
  9. I would hope so. Apparently, the Gator Bowl called OSU beginning of the month and invited them. OSU immediately called the NCAA and the NCAA said "there will not be a bowl ban, go ahead and accept.". Few weeks later they are handing down punishments, a member of the COI who had never spoke of a bowl ban spoke up and said "we need to do a bowl ban" and the rest is history.
  10. That didn't get them the bowl ban. The people in charge turned a blind eye to certain infractions. If Tress had turned the players in and Bobby G had already been disassociated and the players were monitored on jobs like they were supposed to be, this is nothing more than a few players suspended a few games in 2010
  11. Probation is on the school's side, not the player's side. If some guy is going out and getting cash for no reason other than being a football player, the the person providing the cash is not a booster, and somehow it all gets caught, that doesn't affect probation. It's when the school fucks up. Aka a Booster giving cash. Or lying about knowing your players are getting cash. That kind of stuff.
  12. a 1 year bowl ban isn't that big of a deal. It's just the NCAA lied and flipped everything that's the big deal.
  13. Word is that the infractions comittee was 1 vote majority in favor of a bowl ban. A vote that was flipped when they were deciding on punishment.
  14. Yes. The admins are the ones who got the school served with a bowl ban. Tressel lying and compliance not monitoring the boosters.
  15. The NCAA is out to punish the Urban Meyer coached, rebounding OSU team. They are out to make a statement. Why would they care to ban a 6-6 Luke Fickell coached team from a toilet bowl? That's not the message they are trying to send. The NCAA is PISSED about this whole thing. OSU made them look stupid, letting the Tat 5 play then all this shit goes down. Look, I think Gene Smith has had a ton of fuck ups. I personally think this was beyond him, or anyone.
  16. The NCAA just put on an elaborate 4 month deception of one of their "own". They delayed punishment till after bowl bids. They assured no bowl ban. Their own precedent said no bowl ban. I don't care who the AD was, the NCAA was going to pull this underhanded move on anyone in order to make a statement. If OSU had a bowl ban this year, the NCAA would have just added another year. They were going to do whatever they could to flex their "muscle". Just like they are going to step into Penn State to do the same. A place and situation they do not belong.
  17. I promise you the NCAA is trying to make a statement and would have banned OSU in 2012 too. I think that is the thing, there wasn't supposed to be any chance of a bowl ban. not even a 1% chance.
  18. There are no strong rumors. They range from Jan, to reassigned, to June.
  19. I honestly think the NCAA is being more underhanded than you are letting on to. I understand you want to blame someone, but the NCAA is the one going against their own precedents here.
  20. The NCAA also probably feels dumb for letting the 5 play last year.
  21. He was right there. No school with similar charges has ever received a bowl ban. The NCAA is most likely trying to shed the "OSU is the NCAA's golden child" talk.
  22. She's obviously the size of a Mustang
