  1. taken from http://216.253.186.24/technical.html I quote: "A large percentage of the vehicle mass is near the center of the vehicle for enhanced transient response and handling." 60% of the weight is on the front of the car RIIIIIIIIIIIGHT
  2. Are you stupid. The R comes with insulation. the engine also wasn't blue printed. in fact the 96-97 R's were hand milled. The engine is put together by hand with a micrometer on EVERY bolt. Your just mad cause this 20k car can oiut handle your 80k car
  3. man you are smoking crack. I don't know hwo lied to you about the Type R. Maybe i should find you guys a link for the advantages of the type R. yes the car is perfectly balanced. yes it was built for circut racing, and yes yuor viper was not, it was made to go in a staright line which we know is harder than driving a road course. Oh yes and the ITR has awesome exit speed...reguardless of whether it is a FWD car or not, cause of it's balance. I'm off to find this link
  4. sure when my engine is done being built. I just got the block, and ordered pistons and rods....so now i am looking for a head....we'll see i am expecting this to last into october before it is done.
  5. Haha that is a joke. You guys don't understand about Hondas. Lets get a little off topic for 1 second and switch to the NSX. The NSX ran Stock against your High HP R33's, Porsche's, Subaru, etc....These are the cars pushing 1000hp and set up to run circuts. The NSX walks out stock with just drag radials and leads the whole race and ends up in 3rd, as it lost it's lead in the straights. The ITR has successfully proven itself time and time again against any form of car. The ITR is PERFECTLY balanced, the weight is the exact same at every curb. Every body design feature was tested in an air tunnel and tuned perfectly for circut racing. The car is even geared for circut racing. I got a DVD "The Best of Motoring:Type R legends" Where an ITR stock owns all the 2.0ltr and above turbo cars. The ITR has even competed against the "American Mucle cars i.e. the Dodge Viper and has taken it on a road course. The exit speed of the ITR is rediculous. You guys here underestimate our little 4 bangers. If any of the Viper or Vette or 03 Cobra owners here would like to go up to mid-ohiofor and open track day i know quite a few ITR owners who would be happy to roll you on the track. Not saying the R will win, but it will roll you in the turns, the only place you guys would touch it is on the starights.
  6. Well a stock LS/Vtec sure as hell isn't gonna be as quick as a B18c (ITR) engine. Even a "stage 2" LS/Vtec isn't the best as i knwo someoen who has one. I am going LS/Vtec for the torque and low compression. You would liek to run alot of boost on your h23....i know someone who runs 30+ lbs on his built H22...he is hoping for low 11's, and that engine is in a Integra.
  7. are you using a SR20? Thsoe are known to make nice numbers after being built. I don't plan on dropping too much into this engine though, i'm figuring 4-5k for this swap....not smoe insane amount of money.
  8. hopped up civic? Thats a joke, the ITR is made for road racing, plain and simple, its not an econobox civic. Stock ITR's, with good drivers, will compete and beat most of your american sports cars, with good drivers, on road courses
  9. yea, cause i am the one who got all defensive about everything. Your 17 and got a bike, must be nice to have mom and dad to pay for it. If you don't kill yourself first i'll be glad to run you.
  10. </font>So why does your built and boosted d-series only run a high 14? I see B16's in EF's with I/H/E runnin 14.5 and lower....seems to me the b16 is just a little quicker with simple bolt on's than a built d-series boosting.
  11. The B16A is deffinately not an overrated engine, cause stock they have been known to handle up to 15 lbs of boost. So lets see a built turboed D-series against a stock b-series......well my guess would be the built turbo motor would win, common sense. When i finsih my LS/Vtec we can go and see how "overrated" the B16 is.
  12. How did i miss the point? The Type-R is a car designed for circut racing, not straight lines. A stock Type R will roll his 4 second car cause he just wasted all of his money in building a car that drives in a straight line.
  13. Sure i got the huge cock in my ass cause i'm the one from Dublin whose parents buy them what they want right? Your right i do have a 89 Civic DX.....your point? Just cause my parents didn't go out and buy me a car means nothing. What you fail to realize is the 88-91 Civic, more specifically the DX and STD are some of the lightest Hondas ever made. So your telling me i am stupid for buying a car that weighs 2078 lbs? Now that it has no interior i expect it to weigh 1850-1950. So your tellign me when i throw in my setup of a built LS/Vtec and boost the shit out of it making roughly 350-450 WHP that is stupid huh? Cause my power to weight ratio is just awesome.........sounds really dumb to me too. So quit sucking Brian's cock, and go fuck yourself kid. Oh yea i'm not a kid. Cause looking at your profile your about 4 years younger than me, KID.
  14. Do you have any positive numbers backing that up? the 2000 in 2000 is strictly a rumor. There are no exact number son how many type R's were imported, just like therer is no specific order to the badge numbers. your car isn't rare at all. You payed too much for an overrated swap. I got 180 hp at the crank and 110 ft lbs of Tq and i payed 3900 for the motor. B16b is the msot overrated Honda engine ever made. Hence the name "Torqueless Wonder". Plus your car weighs a good amount, and you don't even have a 5-lug setuup, so what is so rare abotu your car? Oh yea there has been b16b's sold in the US, cause obviously you got one, and i know you didn't personally go to japan and pick it out of a car there, and fly it back here yourself. Yuo bought it from an american based comapany, probabaly HMO since they have the best price on it [ 22. August 2004, 11:09 AM: Message edited by: kshymkiw83 ]
  15. Well i'm sure if he "de-badged" his car liek she said in the origional post, he obviously would take off all STI emblems
  16. And it would still roll your 4 sec. car on a road course. Too bad Type R's with 100k go for over 15k everyday. That is pretty sad coming from an ITR owner. I dont even have one and can tell you there were less then 700 in 97. THERE WERE NO WHITE ONES IN 00-01 97-750 all white 98-1100 all white 00-1600 yellow and black 01-1600 yellow and black Personally the car will sell for 25k. I saw the car for sale last year when it only had 27 miles and it went for 24. This owner will sit on it til he gets 25. [ 21. August 2004, 09:26 AM: Message edited by: kshymkiw83 ]
  17. I think this car was bought like this from Denny Dotson if i'm correct. There was a discussion ove on Ohio Hondas about this car
  18. I thought the Profec B was still on National Back order?
  19. Undercovers can pull you over but can't issue a citation
