I cannot begin to explain how fun this car is! It just puts a smile on my face every time I get in. I'm very excited to get this on the track or to an auto-X.
I went to the London Cobra Show Saturday and realized I only had 10% of the funds to buy a Cobra. Luckily, this only cost 10% of a Cobra so I picked it up.
1990 MX-5
53XXX miles
unmodified
only 3 dings that I could find
no rust
Well cared for
Plans: Rollbar, new brakes, not let this distract from LS swap.

I can't wait! I believe they do parade laps at this event too if you want to drive your car on the track. Last year was no cost for the parade lap. It's not racing on the track but fun if you have never been on it or want to get your kid(s) on track. Low key atmosphere and family friendly.

I have always wanted a half-track...with the quad 50's in the back.

Flippin' sweet! I can't wait to see it in action!

Great Saturday for race fans! I really need a TV out in the garage. I am not going to get much done today.

I'm in love with the sweet music of the turbo whistle @ 20 seconds in. Car looks great too.

That looks like a blast! Tough choice with all the nice cars in the pics. Glad you had fun! What track was this at?

I was training for a 1:55 but got a cold and then a sinus infection starting 3 weeks ago. I did it in 2:10:21 and was overjoyed. I was able to breath through my nose which has been a rarity over the last couple of weeks.
I'm impressed with everyone's times. I am doing the Delaware City 1/2 marathon at the end of this month and hope to redeem myself.

Dunno why but I love that hole in the hood. Looks dope.

If they aren't open by June, I'd prefer to just have a refund on the "membership" I paid for.
I bought the "membership" hoping to have something racing related to do over the winter...yeah.

I saw this on Facebook. Might be fun for those of us looking to auto-X more this year and learn something.

If dropping the tank is not so important, I am assuming quality is not the first priority. That being said, you could use rivets and seam sealer.
You tell me. I am a newb so that is why I am asking. I don't want to drop the tank but if I need to I shall. I am not in a hurry.
Thanks for all the feedback guys. Much appreciated.

I should have stated I was hoping not to have to drop the tank which is below this area. Maybe I need to get back under the car and see how much room I have to work with.

I want to relocate my battery to the spare tire well of my car. To accomplish this I want to remove the "hump" that protrudes up and put some flat sheet metal down. I have questions, you've got answers.
Anything special I should use to cut out the hump? I was planning on just a cut off wheel.
How should I seal the new sheetmetal? Black silicone and a couple nuts and bolts? Weld it in A-Team style?
I enjoy learning how to do new things and I am in no rush. Learning will be part of the fun.

Visions of LS swaps danced in my head all night. PM'd ya.

That was great. I love their creativity.

I am in with a +1. I missed the last one due to dental BS so I am pumped for this.
If my wife does not want to race can she still come and watch?
Fatherhood fail. I forgot my son has a race on the 1st so prep is Friday night. I can't make it...again. :fa:

Thanks guys! I have no doubt that I will enjoy this more than a Cobra. I already have one garage queen. I hate worrying about it. Where it's parked and what kids are currently grinding their bicycle pedals up against it. If I had a Cobra my blood pressure would go up every time I parked it outside of it's bubble.
I have already cut the springs, installed tornado intake turbo supercharger nitrous fogger and applied 5 "shocker" stickers so there is no danger of me becoming a Miata Douche.
