  1. Tim, how do you like that area? I spent a few minutes looking around the surrounding areas just for kicks. Seems like the cost of living is pretty low there but also the job market, economy matches it. If you spent most of your life in Ohio and now live there full time Im interested in your opinion/regrets,etc? Feel free to PM if you dont want to post here.

I essentially chose this area because my parents (who aren't getting any younger) live here. I was staying with them when I first moved down here during my house hunt. Within an hour of their place is where I told myself I would try to keep my search when in fact, I ended up finding my place about 1.7 miles from their house LOL. Just fell in love with the house, yard and neighborhood. In hindsight, I think I would have probably preferred being a bit further south as to be closer to the actual beach. I'm about 25 minutes from the Gulf here, but there are no real "beaches". It's about 1:45 hrs to get to Sarasota where I really love the beaches. Luckily, working for Discover, I've been able to work remotely even before COVID hit, so the local job market didn't really play a part in me deciding to choose this area.

  2. I'm like that too, I spent 35 years of my life with full sinuses and as soon as I moved south I realized people actually do breath through their noses. Wife's the opposite so she's kind of annoyed;-)

    100%

Living down here has drastically affected any sinus issues that I had while living in Ohio. I will say the average temp over the next 10 days will be 73*

  3. We just got back from Ft Myers yesterday afternoon. This weather is UGH in terms of driving to work, taking the dogs out, etc, etc etc. If I could work remote I think Id find a trailer park to live in for a few months somewhere warmer.. not really but man 74* and sunny was NICE.

It ain't bad down here :)

  4. I came back home with two Mastador puppies (Scarlet & Gray), so that has been keeping me pretty busy since returning home from Ross's funeral. Sadly, another life change occurred in the last week. My girlfriend ended up moving back to South Carolina to be closer to her 8 year old daughter whom she had been missing so much since moving here. Also, her attorney recommended the move in order to balance out parenting with her POS ex so as to work to gain primary custody. So now, my parents are in Ohio, gf back in SC and other than my neighbors and new dogs, I'll be spending the 2nd Christmas alone. I did get out on the bike for a nice ride yesterday right before sunset, and will likely be taking a few more rides in the coming days.

Can this year be over and done with already...please.

  5. Tuesday night, my 25 year old nephew, Ross, had a seizure and passed away in his sleep in Columbus. His older brother found him in the morning. To say we are all devastated is an understatement. My brother is a total wreck and its so hard to hear him in such pain. My parents are headed back to Ohio within the day, but I'll be leaving once I know the arrangements and speak more with my boss. I was lucky enough that my girlfriend was able to take the day off work yesterday to console me, which if she hadn't, I'm sure the day would have been even more rough than it was. Today, however, I'm here alone...1,000 miles from my friends and family and I can't get out of my head. I'm working today, but very limited. I need to find something to preoccupy my brain. I bought a puzzle last week to do during Christmas when the g/f's daughter is here, but I'm about to open it up.

Honestly, maybe, I think I just need to vent. To share what's going on and try to do something other than cry.

  6. It's been my go to since college 20 some yrs ago. You're in florida, so if you like that, look for some papas pilar rum. I really like the bourbon barrel aged variety, and it's made in key west so I'd think you could find it around you.

  7. For tires, I ended up at Tirebuyer.com, 7% off for Black Friday and their normal pricing was inline with the other places for the tires I wanted, saved about $50. Will be able to get the Visa card through the manufacturer, as well: https://www.tirebuyer.com/

Looked on here for a set of 235/60/14 for the 442. $3/ea less than Tirekingdom, free shipping, and $50 Visa gift card because the Cobra G/T is part of their promo. Hmmm
