  1. About... 12-13yrs ago I had a RC10GT. Lynx 2ch AM, Nova Rossi CX.12, all the titanium junk you can think of, MIP Shiny CVD's, 4n1 clutch, HD Steel bell and spur, nitride diff balls, and the list went on and on. I used to race it out there at Dirt Country and Full Throttle in Eastgate. I accidentally took home a transponder once lol.

It never did corner worth a lick and I just NOW, this very minute realized why. I used to have to tighten down the diff so hard because it would slip too much, that I must have locked it up. Well, I know not to ever do that again lol.

  2. I'm trying to get some clarification on how to calculate the rotational inertia of a wheel mounted to a tire.

    Do you:

A - figure them as a hoop (tire) and disk (rim) and add your results together

B - figure them as one large disk (since it is filled in the center)

c - figure them as one large hoop (since most of the mass is in the outer portion)

    Here's the dilemma...

Right now I run a 31" tire weighing 40lbs, on steel wheels weighing 28lbs, giving me a total rotating mass of 68lb on each corner. I want to drop the wheels to 16lbs, and am trying to figure out how big of a tire (height and weight) I can run w/o upsetting the rotational inertia force that is currently on my drive train.

Lets see how many of you smart asses are really smart. I bet the guy that knows this drives a Fox body. :bangbang:

  3. I'm trying to remove the damn thing to get at the rear main seal and I cant get it off... I don't even know how its supposed to come off. I thought it would just separate with the trans but its bolted to the flywheel and we cant get it off the crank. No one seems to have a Chilton's around here and the Haynes manual sucks serious ass.

    Help Please.

  4. Id get it thrown out. Id argue that there is no defined speed written on the ticket, its simply a ball park. And even if a "visual speed" is acceptable to the court, when was the last time they estimated a car at over 200mph? And to put "+"... they don't have any idea how fast he was going. its inconclusive evidence.
  5. Im not saying it wouldnt be a good eat... but mixing raw food with cooked food is a BIG no no. Beef is not that bad, you can actully eat it pretty raw w/o much chance of worms or biological infection. Chicken and fish are the most dangerous, mainly fish. There are things in fish that you CANT kill with heat, and you cant see or taste it.

So FYI, when the zombies come, and all power is knocked out and you have to hunt wild animals to eat... most harmful bacteria only survive on the exterior of the flesh, where it has contact with an abundance of Oxygen and Nitrogen. There are much fewer harmful bacteria that you can ingest from the inside of a cut of meat, unless the animal has been infected by the zombie virus and then youre just fucked.

  6. We just took a $100,000 contract away from Papa Johns through the Air Force... We'll have 2 trailers at EVERY Air Force Sporting even this year. Ill be at most of the football games I believe. My store and Michelle Liele's do all the delivery to the Academy, so we will pretty much represent the company at the games.
  7. BLOWS! So a while back I bought a little CO2 powered pistol to fuck around with in the back yard and have been shooting it like mad for like a month or 2. Well last night, a roommate was shooting and some of the neighbors yelled at him saying "If one of those things comes up here you're going to have a problem!" So his reply was, "Get over it, no one is shooting in your direction!"

Now, im a nice guy, and I dont like causing problems with neighbors, but these dikes are not polite, so I got my gun out and started shooting too. So after about 400-500 BB's, the cops show up. The fuckers called the cops on us. So as we find out, there is no FPS/velocity law like in Ohio, you can't fire ANY gas powered/ air powered or 'stored energy" projectile within city limits. So that means, no model rockets, no super soakers, no BB guns, Airsoft guns, sling shots, water balloon launchers, Daisy Red Riders, NOTHING.

    Fuucking lame.

  8. I believe the situation was definitely handled poorly. I also believe that the only thing that makes this a "race" issue, is the first comment by Dymir. In my eyes, if had a private club, that was open membership, and the current membership was a bunch of snooty rich folk that would pay up to an over priced fee every month, I wouldn't want a camp of any sort to just bring random kids in and "spoil the atmosphere" for the current membership, regardless of how much melanin one has in their skin. It doesn't matter if you're as dark as Snipes, or as White as Carrot Top, a rowdy child is a rowdy child, and if someone observed some behavior that they felt would lead to a disruption of the clubs atmosphere, then by all means they should protect their business and kick them out. However, if it really was a race thing, that's fucking gay, and they should all be forced to sit on a pine cone for an hour.
  9. Heres the important part that I think you all are over looking...

Carter stood and knelt in the wet concrete for hours, unaware that the chemicals in the mix could cause burns to unprotected skin, his attorney said.

Given enough time, of course you'll get burned to the prolonged exposure... 15min and wiping, or washing it off wont harm you a bit.

  10. Just picked up a pair of these at Checkers/O'riely's for $69.99. Took about 3hrs to install these in the factory fog light position on my Jeep. The wiring harness and hardware was perfect, and the lights look and work fantastic. You can easily drive at night with these w/o the headlights and you can see just fine.

    PROS:

    - BRIGHT!

    - Low heat output

    - Adjustable after mounting on all 3 axis

    - Low price for a pair of 7" off road lights

    - Low current... didn't cause any flutter in the voltage from the voltmeter nor did any dash lights dim when flipping them on.

    - Self contained bulb housing clipped into heavy duty backing.

    - Use H3 55w bulbs

    CONS:

-Rock covers are solid, and only come in white... looks like ass on an otherwise all red/black Jeep.

    - Also, the wiring diagram is clearly translated from Korean or something and didn't make a ton of sense to me. The thing calls ground, "Earth"... and asks you to hook up to the headlights 12V source... only thing I could figure was so that you cant activate the fog lights w/o turning on the headlights, which is gay. Given that they include a nice relay and grounded switch, i felt it was easier to just hook up the switch to the same 12v source as the relay so the lights can be turned on and off whenever you want.

  11. he lives in colorado in the mountains it is a suitable daily the tires are just too much for the stock gearing

Well maybe i can find a set of Dana 44's off a Rubicon... they have 4.00 gears in them i believe... The stock Dana 30's on the X aren't good for much more than what I have now, so eventually I'd have to swap up anyway I guess...

  12. The top end is not the problem, its the time it takes to get to freeway speed. if you come off a ramp at 40mph, and it takes 10seconds to get to 75... that's a lot of ground that will be closed up on you in a big hurry. Interstates here are 75mph outside of the city, so often traffic runs at 80-85mph. I have to at least be able to keep up with traffic.
  13. So Jeeps are slow to begin with... and with the 4.0L 5sp, it really isn't all that bad in stock form. Even with the 31's on it, it still isn't bad from say... 0-40. It'll actually bark both the rear tires grabbing second. The problem is... the interstate... As soon as this thing hits 3rd gear, it is the biggest turd on the planet. Something has to be done to this thing because its honestly scary to merge into 80mph traffic with a jeep that MIGHT do 85 or 90mph.

An SBC swap is out of the question.

I bought a 3yr warranty with the jeep so I cant really do much of anything that cant be reversed quickly or not seen at all.

The superchargers are garbage for this engine and only produce like 60 or 70hp.

The turbo kits are very spunky adding 92hp and 80 some lb-ft at the rear tires on only 8psi... BUT its a lot of plumbing, especially for a air-water intercooler.

The other alternative is building a stroker motor which has several combinations making any where from 230-300hp and 270-350lbft... no real HEAVY machining is required either... but it does mean I'd have to start from scratch and then swap it in... much more involved then just bolting on a turbo kit.

Ultimately this car is for daily commutes and crawling around on trails... interstate travel is only because I have to in order to get to the trails. This wont be a highway vehicle... just a around town and light/moderate off road rig.

    Thoughts?

  14. Wow its hard to beleive Come on guys you remember when you growing up he was your idol
