  1. This is true... you can beat the bajeebus out of these engines and they just keep right on going... hence the reason i asked about the 24hr race last week
  2. and the point of that is....
  3. i saw this on TV a while back... i dunno bout all that...
  4. As for the MPG claim.... Think of this engines multiplying torque ability as a compound pulley system. You take one pully, and you lift a mass and you are lifting the weight equal to the mass + gravity... you compound it 5 times, and now your lifting only 1/5th the weight. Well what happens when you compound it 32 times? you've effectively reduced the weight by 32x and almost all the work you're doing is over the time line. So you have a 4cyl car that weights in at 3200lbs, like my S40. Effectively, each cylinder is doing the work to move 800lbs of the car. Now each cyl is roughly 29ci, to the MYT engines 26.x, but adding all those "extra" cylinders, is dividing the weight out so far, that there's almost no resistance to its free spinning operation. Hence the 150mpg claim.

  6. Case and Point: For my car, in order to replace both ignition coils, (two cyl are direct fire, the other have leads) and both plug leads, its going to cost roughly... $150... and that's CHEAP. Just for the 2 wires, is $50... for TWO! Thats what i mean, for these "newer" ones, as in 6-10yrs old, the parts do cost, but when you buy, you get GREAT parts.
  7. about the only thing TATU ever opened for BTW they are still hawt.
  8. It really depends on what you want it for. If you want something easy to fix and can make some decent power, than you want an older 850. Most people just expect these things to go to 300k... they are very under built engines, meaning they are way stronger than they need to be for their factory output. If you want to jump into the S40/60/80 go with the 2002-2004 Phase 2 styles. Tey had twin scroll turbos as opposed to single scroll and upgraded MAF's. The downside to these cars are that parts are hard to find... and when you do find them, you WILL pay for them. But they are "Full Race" quality, and make HUGE differences. My perticular car, is really quite amazing to me. I still cant get over my trip out here, and how after driving uphill almost the whole way, against the wind, and towing that trailer, that the motor didn't just explode from being in boost nearly all the time. But it STILL got 20mpg doing it. Volvos are similar to M3's in that they aren't the absolute best at anything, they just do everything extremely well respectively. Mine is working its way to the 90k mark, and it still runs great... still gets 32-34mpg on the interstate and will shit and get from the traffic lights if i want it to. From what i understand, this car had about 120k on the clock when it was put together, and makes more than 500hp without much problem. Its also using a V70R turbocharger, the TD04-19T... not a very big compressor to be honest.
  9. Former roommate has his 19th b-day party. I wasnt very happy about all the youngsters in the apartment, and the mess they were creating was out of control. I told him to end his little get together because he had lost control of his own party and things were being ruined. Somewhere along the line, he and a girl got into it over something and he apparently pushed her or something... who knows they were all drunk. Party ends and everyone passes out. 30 or so minutes after everything is over, there is a knocking on the door. Me being the only sober one, hears it, and peers through the peek hole. Standing there are 3 teenage males, white, black cloths, never seen them before. So i just wait... no more than the time i stepped back, they kicked the door. Only one of the dead bolts was engaged so after only 7 mighty kicks, the door frame gave out and flew open. To the surprise of the three young men, there was a large man with a 9in survival knife waiting for them at the end of the hall way. Wisely, they bolted. CPD's finest didn't catch shit. Should have chased them myself.
  10. just extra weight... id spend that 3k on a fuel cell, some coilovers, and stickies...

  12. and that car only made like 800hp...
  13. I could care less about being fast on the strip or the street anymore... i think its dumb and pointless. Im more interested in Endurance racing and hill climbs than anything... but even still... who really cares. Id rather find a woman, buy a house and have a couple sons to spend time doing that stuff with.
  14. I've been a movie fanatic for several years but just recently, I began to really see a decline in GREAT movie moments. I look back at some of movies that have really made an impact and seen some AMAZING moments and acting that really deserve to be recognized more than they are. What are some of your favorites?
