So I'm left with pretty much no choice. I started this project with the hopes of fusing two abandoned and hopeless Zs into one amazing piece of machinery. Unfortunately, I did not budget my project accordingly, and am WAY over budget. Anyway, my loss is your gain. The car is almost complete, and simple basic mechanical skills should be able to finish it.
Here's what I did:
I purchased a built, but wrecked, '90 TT in Houston and had it shipped over here to Columbus, OH.

I also purchased a pearl white '90 NA in Toledo, OH and had it shipped here.
The shop that did all the work was IPS Motorsports, the renowned Z shop in central Ohio. They are the BEST in any of the surrounding states. They have done inumerable NA->TT swaps and are the ONLY shop I would trust with my car. Feel free to give Jeff Yetzer, the owner, a call and he'll answer any questions you might have.

the bad:
i drove the car out of the shop and the clutch immediately started slipping. then a couple of weeks later the car started acting up, i took it back to the shop and they informed me that 3 of the injectors are in horrible shape. i haven't had the time, money, or motivation to finish the project. there was a nasty wing on the car when i picked it up, so i took it off. under the wing, there was a little rotting. i sanded it down the metal and fixed the rot, but it was impossible to match the pearl paint that was already on the car. so it looks a lot better than it did, but you can tell it's been repainted. it has a rust spot on the drivers side rocker panel that i was planning on just covering up with some side skirts. the windshield is cracked. i have a good windshield, but it will be your responsibility to remove it off the car and transport it. the passenger side window does not roll down. i think it needs a new motor, which i also have, and is also your responsibility to remove from the parts car. the unfortunate part is that the parts car with the good windshield and window motor is in the far northern part of columbus, about an hour from where my car is located. there is also a little paint missing off the rear bumper. if you fix the injectors and clutch, this is the perfect sleeper...
the car needs the following things to be COMPLETE:
- a few rear panels for the hatch
- install the clutch, which is included
- replace 3 nismo 555cc injectors
- new windshield
- new pass side window motor
- speakers (for the audiophiles, not mandatory)
- install front crossdrilled rotors
- new ebrake pad
- guages (optional)
- sideskirts (optional)
- new paint (optional)
as you can see, this car is almost finished and needs very few and minor things to be an absolute beauty.
i unfortunately do not have any pics of the car in it's current state, but i have some pics of the whole process here:
http://sales.zpartsstore.com
this is how my debt breaks down:
parts car ($3500)
- shipping ($700)
donor car ($1300)
- shipping ($300)
tt wheels & yokohoma tires ($500)
misc parts ($300)
IPS Work ($8300)
as you can see, i have around $15k in this car and now i need to sell it... i honestly have no idea how much to ask for it... i've never really been in this situation before and as much as i'd like to get all my money back, i know it's not gonna happen. i'm pretty much open to every and all offers... this car sounds like a semi truck and will put down 500+ rwhp with just a few minor adjustments... the car will start and idle perfectly... it also drives, but not very well on only 3 injectors...
please contact me with any questions or comments...
THANKS!!
