  1. Is that so? Anyways, said forget it. Hard drive was formatted. Wasn't a lot on there that I can't recover. Going through the process of downloading programs, files, and important stuff again....well the ones that I can remember.
  2. Thanks to everyone for the info in my last post where I needed help with my PC. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=55452 The problem ended up being my motherboard, and I have now replaced my motherboard. Upgraded to an nVidia nFORCE 680i LT SLI. Since I had an OEM PC from Gateway, my version of Windows Vista will no longer work since my motherboard was replaced. I have a copy of Windows XP sitting around that I can use, and I prefer XP over Vista anyways. My problem now is my hard drive. I have my PC up and running with another hard drive in it that I was using as a test drive from my brother in laws PC. The computer works fine. I'm just curious as to how I can get XP running on my computer while keeping all my information from my previous hard drive? If I use the XP disc, enter the BIOS and boot from disc to install XP will I lose any of the information on my hard drive? Will it corrupt any of the information? Will it format my hard drive? Any and all help appreciated.
  3. Hey, look at the bright side, at least he doesn't have to worry about getting his asshole riped up when he goes to prison.....
  4. From Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_Core_2 "The Core 2 Duo E4300[17] uses an Allendale core, released on January 21, 2007. The Allendale processors use a smaller mask with only 2 MB of cache, thereby increasing the number of chips per wafer. Allendale processors are produced in the LGA775 form factor, on the 65 nm process node." Conroe, Conroe XE and Allendale all use Socket LGA775; however, not every motherboard is compatible with these processors. Supporting chipsets are: Intel: 865PE/G/GV/G, 945P/PL/G/GZ/GC, 965P/G, 975X, P/G/Q965, Q963, 946GZ/PL, P3x, G3x, Q3x, X38, X48, P4x , 5400 Express Does that mean that the nVidia board I posted in the first post would be compatible? I've always liked nVidia, even after hearing about the legal problems they're having, they still make damn good components. Like I've been saying, all the motherboard/chipset stuff is a foreign language to me. I've already compaired my front side bus, memory, and other things to that board and they all look right, at least to me.
  5. Wow, stuff I haven't heard about in ages.... Pogs Stay over at friends and staying up all night beating NES games. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Ghost Busters, all those stupid TV shows on Nick Legos, Pipe works Being able to walk in that neighborhood at night Baseball cards being worth something, and collecting them because you liked the sport. Riding my bike to Clown Cone at Northern Lights for candy/ice cream.
  6. Me being a Michigan fan and seeing our all freshman offence, I hope he doesn't play for an OSU loss. Nothing against the team, all 3 of your quarterbacks look great and Well's replacement has got some nice foot work too. Either way, I bet it's going to be one hell of a game on Sat. Can't wait to watch it. I feel so dirty, Michigan has a new coach, new offence and a defence that doesn't show up until the 4th quarter and I'd rather watch OSU games then the shit I'll have to see from them this year. At least I know the Bucks games will be good.....
  7. I was out at that California Fittness on Sawmill. We had just got there when the first tower had hit and it was on TV. Started working out a bit and the second one hit. After I left, I ended up toatling my car. Cops wouldn't come out because they were too busy. Never got cited for the accident, even though some bitch on a cell phone was swerving in and out of my lane, so I was paying more attention to her than the truck in front of me that was slowing for a right hand turn. In all fairness I only had my DL for a month at that point. On a plus note, it is the day of my sister and her husbands anniversary.
  8. "Ooops, wrong hole baby, I'm sorry about that!" Hey, she never set any rules, pool your money together and get a group deal on that. I'm sure she wouldn't mind. Tell her it's for her education, just teaching her a lesson.
  9. Well the power supply has been changed out with no results, so I'd guess the mobo is dead. In my first post I linked one that I was looking at, brother in law told me that I had a 775 chipset, but after looking further the site says I have a 945G chipset. I'm hoping to find one similar to the nVidia one that I linked in quality, price range and so forth. Any suggestions? EDIT: I know very little about chipsets and motherboards. So as much help as possible in picking out a good one compatiable with my system would be appreciated. I mostly use this PC for gaming (Warcraft mostly but a few others, looking into Warhammer), Photoshop and working on a friends website. I hope that helps in the decision for mobo choices based on what I do mostly with my PC.
  10. I had a friend who's dad ended up dying from cancer, it's a shitty deal. He ended up trying to push himself further away from his dad so it didn't hurt as bad when he passed, and he's regreted it ever since. Just make sure you spend lots of time with her and enjoy it. My prayers will be with you, your mom and your family.
  11. I'm looking into it now. I've got an idea of what I'm supposed to be doing. Looking it up to make sure it's right and I'm using the right pin or whatever.
  12. I've gotten NO beeps all day out of this new paper weight. Eh, little humor might be good for me, been so pissed off about this all day. lol
  13. I've removed the memory sticks, 1 at a time, switched them out with no new progress.
  14. Yeah, that was one of the first things I checked. First was the mouse because the laser on the bottom wasn't lighting up, and I had just replaced my mouse. I've checked it on 3 different monitors already. 2 of which I know are properly working. I removed my video card and powered it up. Didn't even beep. No changes. Reinstalled my video card and tried again, same deal. No changes what soever. Anything else I should try before comming to the conclusion that it's probably the mobo?
  15. The video card and power supply has been working fine. They've been installed since April. I'm getting ready to pull out the 8600 GTS to see if it is the problem. I don't believe that I diabled the onboard card, but it's been a while. I'll update you as soon as I try.
