  1. I used to be really into it. Most of the cool abandoned places are either gone, redeveloped, too dangerous, trashed, or actively patrolled now. There are still a lot of abandoned houses and farmsteads out in the rural wilderness, but those aren't really worth the risk...judges out there do NOT like trespassing cases, and too many abandoned places are used as meth labs.
  2. Dont recall the PO name. But may have been his son? Got it from an older dude, maybe late 40s early 50s... Had a daughter that looked older than me.... But that's just fucking dandy :dumb:

Could have been Ricky's dad, age range is about right. He took good care of it from what I saw. This was 5 or 6 years ago.

It stuck in my mind because there were 4 GTs delivering pizza in the area at the time. That one on the Hilltop, a black one at the Donatos on Norton, another black one at Josie's, and a repainted orange one for Papa Johns. What are the odds?

  3. You found this on West Broad? Was it owned by a short stubby fireplug guy named Ricky? He used to deliver for some pizza place on the Hilltop, that truck is missing the tonneau because a 300+ lbs tranny hooker decided to trampoline it Wrestlemania-style while he was stopped at Central one night...
  4. While I'm not sure about rv spots, I will chime in on good locations that I have camped at.

Blue Rock State park is a nice place, has a lake

Burr Oak is another nice place, lots of hiking/exploring areas there, beautiful in the fall when the leaves change.

A little bit further south is Zaleski State Park- good for nice hiking, again not sure on rv spots. I've hiked the 10 and 20 mile loops peacefull.

I have seen bears at Zaleski and signs of them at Blue Rock and Burr Oak just a heads-up

There is a Boy Scout camp in Licking county called Camp Falling Rock I would call and check with them to see about non scouts camping.

The lower campground at Blue Rock is NOT the first place I would want to take anything bigger than a truck bed camper. I've tent camped there about a hundred times, most of the sites are okay. The ones across the creek are nicely isolated. I haven't camped the upper one yet, can't tell you on access there.

Camp Falling Rock is nice, been there with Dad's Scout Troop about a dozen times. I don't think they are open for individual campers, but they have rented to business groups.

  5. If they do a tube, it'll be underground most likely. MUCH easier to get right-of-way from Bub the farmer if he doesn't have to worry about the impact it has on his fields. And it'd eliminate a LOT of bridges along the way.

I could see this happening in about 20ish years if they get the costs and routing right. Right now, gas is cheap enough that the apparent disadvantages of point-to-point mass transit outweigh the benefits.

  6. I'd take bets on plantar as well...my wife had it BAD for a year or so, to the point of not being able to even walk after sleeping for more than a few hours. Rolling and curn stretches helped somewhat, but the big thing was getting custom orthotics and braces to keep her feet from bending while asleep.
  7. Yea, the beard damn near got sucked down the throttle body. Need to tie that fucker up before it catches fire when welding.

I've had my beard on fire twice...not an experience I care to repeat! Honestly I'm a bit surprised it doesn't happen to welders more often.

Come to that, getting beard hairs caught in a crack or cut on a mask hurts like a bitch, flip it back for a look-see and you've got a bloody chunk of chin dangling at eye level...
