So what do you like, Prophet? Do you like imports or american? If you like imports, I would suggest getting a Suburu WRX or STI. If you like american, I would consider getting a LT1/LS1 Z28/Trans Am or a GT/Cobra. Suburu's are one of the only imports I like, and one of the few imports I have respect for. Let me tell you, I drive a 2000 Z28 and stock, it runs mid-13's. That's STOCK! Here's a list of cars I think you should consider looking into... '93-97 Z28/Trans Am...14 second car stock '98-02 Z28/Trans Am...13 second car stock '94-98 GT.............15 second car stock '99-04 GT.............14 second car stock '94-98 Cobra..........14 second car stock '99-02 Cobra..........13 second car stock Basically, we are all just trying to wake you up and make you realize that modding a Probe will get you nowhere fast. It will take some dough to get it into 13's and 14's, whereas the cars I mentioned runs those numbers stock. I don't know what your budget is, but I looked up some cars for you on AutoTrader. '95 LT1 Z28 M6 - $6,000 (80k miles) '98 LS1 Z28 A4 - $7,900 (83k miles) '96 LT1 Trans Am M6 - $6,800 (81k miles) '98 LS1 Trans Am A4 - $8,970 (68k miles) '94 5.0 GT A4 - $5,500 (73k miles) '96 4.6 Cobra M5 - $8,795 (99k miles) '00 4.6 GT M5 - $8,500 All of these cars are 13 and 14 second cars (cept for 94-98 GT; maybe 96-98 GT...94-95 GT's might be 14 second cars stock). All of these cars are also under 10 grand with good mileage. I couldn't find a 99-02 Cobra for under 10 grand. Why, and I dunno why, but Mustangs sell for higher prices than GM f-bodies. I hope this helps you out and maybe can change your mind as well about your Probe. Best case scenario, buy an LT1/LS1 Z28/TA or a GT/Cobra and use your Probe as a beater. I mean, you only paid $800 for it. This is just some food for thought. Hope this helps!

I'd either repair the original engine (would make his car worth so much more with original engine) or go to a junkyard and find a wrecked 350 (i.e. LT1, LT4, LS1, LS6) and drop one of those in there. Unless he'd be willing to buy one of those engines from Jegs brand new for 5k or 6k, plus what it would cost to drop it in there. You can find wrecked cars for a good price, considering there is no engine damage.

Yeah, you can always tell when there's a LS1 Camaro with black mirrors, it's either a '98 or a '99. Unless of course the car is black, then it might be hard to tell if it's a '98 or '99.

'98s and '99s Camaros do have the black mirrors. In '00, they changed the color of the mirrors to the color of the car. This was also the case of LT1 Camaro. 93-97 LT1 Camaros had black mirrors as well. On the Firebirds, the color of the mirrors were the color of the car. In your case, you have a firebird so your mirrors are the color of your car. I'm talking about Camaros. '93-99 Camaros, the mirrors were black, regardless of the color of the car.

Since you want an M6, I searched around on AutoTrader and found a '00 Z28 M6 (white) for $11,550. That's a good price. I also found the car you are looking for. A '99 Z28 M6 (hugger orange) for $12,500.

If you get one, get a '99 and up. '98s were one of the weakest LS1 f-bodies made, at least compared to '99 and up. '01 and '02s have the LS6 manifold which produces a lil more power. There's really no difference in which f-body you choose to get. All in all, they make about the same power whether its a Z28, SS, Formula, Trans Am, WS6 or Firehawk. SS, WS6 and Firehawk have factory ram air hoods, SLP exhaust and better suspension. Whichever you choose, just remember they all have the same LS1 engine. Also, if you get a '98 or '99...they have black mirrors...They changed the color of the mirrors to the color of the car in '00. Yeah, that was me. That was my friend. He has a '97 TA and he met me at work after I got off. We cruised over to see what cars were there but it looked like it was just trucks and SUV's. So we just took off. Yeah, we were on Old Stringtown Rd and I saw a crotch rocket fly up behind me and I just thought nothing of it, but you turned onto Orders Rd...why didn't you keep following us? lol

oh, that's cool. A girl driving a GTO...now that's hot.

What's up man? Two guys with GTO's replying. That's awesome. I love the new GTO's. You guys have the same engine as me. I new LS2 kicks ass and so will the LS7 in the new Z06.

haha Mustangs are like assholes around here, everybody has 'em. haha j/p, I like Mustangs though. Got no problem with them. But yeah, there are a lot of people who drive them.
