I always found it odd the number of people who no longer want my for sale item once I tell them to meet me in the police depts parking lot for the transaction. There are definately some shady people on there.

I never planned on doing and da work either or grinding or using my cutoff wheel, until the day I needed them and didnt have the power without it being a pain in the ass.

I have I believe a 30 gallon but it doesnt run body tools like a da or my grinders without almost constantly needing to run. My father in law just bought a 2 stage(recovers faster so it doesnt work so hard) 60 gallon compressor, iron horse brand, from andersons I believe for $499. Looked like a very good deal.

I struggle with that question steve. My only thing is in this particular instance the kid knows he is supposed to ask so an adult is there to help prevent something like this. If my kid was at someone else's house who said "sure you guys go out back and knock yourselves out" and something like this happened, I would not offer to pay. That parent as I do should understand accidents like this happen and if you allow it......... If I was out there at the time and I had the shooting stuff setup and say it ricocheted, well I would never accept the kids parents paying, but the kid knew better, had a brain fart, and took the liberty on his own.

Now I have a dilemma. I come home today to a phone call from the daughter(older sister of the boy) who speaks english I can understand, saying her dad was coming over with a check. A few minutes later the boy comes in and said he didnt get in any trouble(I did not want him to) and his parents just said dont touch the bbgun again(its been taken and put up) and hands me a check for the full amount. I had already come to the resolve that these things happen and I would just pay for it. Do I take the check and not think twice or do I refund him 1/2 and I pay 1/2? Or should I just cover the whole thing? I never asked them to pay anything but had faith they would offer at somepoint, and if they didnt no idea. It was at my house with me providing or at least allowing access to the device which aided it creating the issue. Would this be any different if the kid had picked up a rock and threw it at the board, breaking it? My wife knows the daughter as she works at the high school the girl attends and the daughter stated her brother is spoiled and didnt get in trouble, not that it makes alot of difference. We put the court up the same as we did the pool, trampoline, and massive swingset at the time so that kids would come hang out here and not be out running the streets in trouble and so far this has been the first and only issue in all the years.

Your really boycotting a store because they wont allow you for one reason or another to hold a toy drive, despite the fact they have allowed someone else? What if every week of the year during the months of november and december groups were asking to do the same thing, are they assholes because they feel its to much? Maybe someone who works there knows of your group or someone in your group who has done something or said something at somepoint throughout history that toys r us doesnt agree with nor wants to align themselves with but decided to let you guys down easy and say they just cant accomodate you. My point is you have no idea why they chose not to allow you to do it, focus on what your true goal is. Trust me after nearly 2 decades of doing charitable work, this is only the tip of the iceburg of people telling you no. No matter how good you feel your intentions are, they are yours and those of your group, toys r us has their own intentions and as far as I can tell they donate millions a year just in toys alone, not to mention employee time which is donated, disaster relief donations ect. Get into the season and let this thing go, you never know who works at toys r us, who knows someone that works there, who owns a business and was considering contributing to your cause but looks at this thread and says to himself after reading this thread "there is noway in hell I am getting involved with this guy or his group if this is how he handles things when they dont go his way". The next thing you know you just missed out on a $10million dollar donation.

It seems odd that last year he he gave an article to someone saying he would retire in 5 years. He was looking to hire different managers and hold a portion of sales to aide them in opening their own dealerships. Now hes gone and they auctioned a portion of his collection. Marc being the first of the new program.

The last of his collection went to auction the 6th of this month.
