I downloaded that gtopala thing, but what do I click on that shows me the space? Also there appears to eb a ton of things running, is this normal?

So are my documents and my pics the only tings i need to transfer over to a thumbdrive? I dont have any music other than itunes and I assume that will all come back after I reload it. After I transfer these, I then restore off my disk(I dont know if theres a serial number). I asume xp is on the restore disk that came with it, if not I can get a copy from my neighbor. If I lose any pics or documents my wife will kill me.

What language is this in?

I have never done a backup myself and not exactly sure how its done and which files need backed up. I do have my original restore disk. Whats a good amount of ram to have, what will enlarging it increase/do and how do I know if I can upgrade?

What about the apps hes bought? I have synced it to my itunes after he purchased them using the ipod, are the apps also now on my itunes or are they now lost if I trade it in for a new one at bestbuy??

Keep in mind I am computer illiterate. Its an insignia brand running xp. Anything beyond that, I would need to know how to locate it.

I run Microsoft security essentials. After seeing this thread I downloaded that ccleaner and malwarebytes and ran them both. Didnt find anything with either. The computer used to be decently fast but over the last year and a half it just runs slow and tends to freeze up while loading pages. Eventually if I walk away it will catch back up but I dont know why it does it now with a faster internet connection than it did before. Could it just be getting to old? Also that malwarebytes took almost 5hrs to run a full scan. Is that right?

Is this just in case he didnt catch the big green box on his screen?

These free scanners identify issues, but do they also help remedy them or do you have to purchase the product to do that?

I have been pricing out all of the local places that offer certification. Check with him and see what he may charge to get the basic certification and also if he does the instrument certification. I am hearing it takes roughly 50-70hrs of training to get these and would want to get it done at a steady pace since I am off on disability and have nothing but time. I would do spindles fully white, and nothing else. IMO when you mix it up to much including seperating colors, you tend to get the "farmhouse" look going. That flat area tends to attract alot of dust. What product are you using? If I were to do it, I would go with a quality enamel so it can stand up to cleaning, dusting which will probably be more often as it will become more visible on the white. I would use oil based enamel vs a latex as it would spread nicer and dries harder.

I would paint the entire spindle white and leave everything else stained.
