Well a civic engine would never see the engine load, cylinder pressure, heat etc that a boosted v6 in a work truck would so unfair battle there.

Yes engine wear is a bigy and that seems to be no problem. Its just that those test wile hard may not be as hard as being used on a josite for 15 years, hauling loads, pulling bobcats and not being serviced when it should.

I am diehard ford and am impressed with the engine to the point if I could I would put one in my cougar over my 393. BUT I feel that this is a little misleading in that mileage is not the only thing that is hard on a engine time is murder as the seals and gaskets dry and such.Things go south quick time will tell if this is as good as it looks today. That being said the numbers they are getting from a v6 is awsome and makes me wonder why we don't have a ecoboost 5.0 making 600hp

You have a Gm tech telling you not to buy a certain motor + You want to buy a v6 car then mod it = Bad Idea (always slow + hurts resale value as most old people that drive caddys don't want a modded car) + Non v's will drop in value faster. It is your $ for sure but ....
