The LS motor is a far better platform than the 302 Ford. What I was trying to say is that a lot of people hear that X amount hp can be made with a $500 junkyard motor, but don't realize what all needs to be done to achieve that goal. I'm about $7-$8k in my swap with everything but I got a little more than just junkyard stuff.

Than a trany, x member, trans mount, motor monts, clutch, driveshaft, fuel pump, injectors, gauges, electronics plus misc hoses and other junk, another $3000. I'm still playing that game with my swap.

You might be better off buying something already swapped. There was a 5.3 6 speed white hatch on LS1TECH. Looked super clean.

Well, in the matter of just horse power, a junkyard 302 and a turbo or a supercharger will make 400-450 whp for less than $2500. 5.3 with heads, cam, intake, headers exhaust, crossmember, computer, wireing, and other misc. swap parts will run you $4000-$5000. And if you go the carb route, than ignition, fuel, carb and other parts are needed too. Whatever you think an LS swap will cost you, multiply that by 2 and that will be the end investment result. It's not as easy as "well, I'll get an LS motor and make power". I can give you a cost list of an LS6 swap for you to reference if you want. Thats why LS swapped cars are worth twice the value of non swapped cars. LOL

85 LX 5.0 coupe roller for sale. Car has 87 to 93 front V8 spindles and larger V8 brakes(85's used the 4 cyl sized brakes factory), has an 8.8 with a 3.73 gear in it as well (again, the 85's used a 7.5" rear axle), engine compartment has been painted with rustoleum hammered metal black, and so has the trunk, has 5 spd pedals in it. No carpet, no headliner(may get one for it), no back seat. Has subframe connectors in it, driveshaft loop, red electric fuel pump and filter, larger fuel line, holley fuel pressure regulator, power brake booster and master cylinder need to be bolted in. Gauges and cluster bezel are laying on floorboard. All wiring and such is still in the car. Battery is mounted in trunk in a nice box, cables run, etc. Wiring has been moved inside fenderwells. Has some minor rust in floor pans, body has some dents and dinks, all minor. Manual windows, manual locks, manual mirrors, had factory a/c, rear defog, and cruise when it was new. They only made 144 of this model in canyon red. It would make a great restoration project or a race car, or street car project. 500 bucks firm takes it! No more pics, no more tire kicking, count out 5 100 buck bills and take it home with a clear title notorized over to you. What's your budget? I know of a super clean low mile white 4 cylinder notch.

Maybe they don't like the type of financing that you are showing to them. For example, down payment assistance programs, FHA and VA may take longer to close. Also FHA and VA require a different type of an appraisal than a Conventional/Conforming loan. Maybe they are worried that the appraiser may find something wrong with the house and you may not get the financing. Maybe that's why they want cash offers and don't wanna deal with financing.
