  1. I heard NXT was good stuff. How long does it take to wax a car? 4 hours maybe more?
  2. Question: What do you guys use when detailing your car? I have them armoral (sp ck), wipe that I have been using. I can't seem to get all the streaks to line up! That and finger prints. I am thinking that maybe the wipes are not a good way to go? Other than that, I am planning on picking up some of this spray on wash. My buddy bought some of that and it looked really good on his car. So what kind of products do you guys use? - Shinobi
  3. Good suggestions so far. I think I would really enjoy a Fox-Body Mustang. My father use to own Mustangs when I was a kid, and I always loved them. I have a lot of friends that have mustangs, and would have a good pool of knowledge to draw from on how to work on them etc. I could save up a couple g's to buy one in decent condition. I just want to beat my buddys SRT-4. And some punk who drives a green Firebird ... that guy .. let me tell ya
  4. I hear ya on that one. I really would like to own a Supra, or a WRX. WRX cause of the all wheel drive, I am a fan of that. I tried to dump the Sonata, which I JUST bought. I am 9k upside down. OUCH! So if I saved like 4-6k I could do a large enough down payment to then finance something else. The main aspect of what I would like to do is learn about cars, how to work on them etc. My father use to be an ASE Master Mechanic, so he knows a couple things about cars. Mostly his hayday was the 70-early 90's. I figured if I bought something late model, which would be in his area of expertise, I could learn something from the old man and go from there. - Shinobi
  5. Okay, I'm giving up on my damn Sonata. Other than some possible suspension work, I am not going to spend thousands on a weak super charger or doing custom everything to pinch out a couple more HP. So, my thought, why not buy another car!! Being a realist, here is my situation, 1000$ and a garage, where do you start? I was thinking buying something used, okay really f%#king used, with the notion that I am going to scrape everything. The point is not only to build a car to go fast, but to LEARN about cars. So, where would you start??? - Shinobi
  6. Check this out ... well I guess the Sonata has a "Unique" engine bay with no access to the fendor. So I would have to do some cutting for good placement. Not so sure about that one. I check and the SRI or CAI for the 04 Tib will not fit, due to the engine bay. I think I am just going to drop in a damn K&N filter and be done with it. I should have bought a Supra
  7. Interesting stuff. Another thing that I found on a Sonata board was a guy making a SRI. He told me that an SRI delivers more low-end torque, which is really what I would like to have. Either way, SRI, CAI, i want to do a custom one and do custom exhaust. Thanks for the info so far! - Shinobi
  8. I am thinking that the Tib ones would bolt on, just I am worried about routing. High - can I give them the measurements including bends?
  9. Question: how effective and easy is it to make your own CAI. On the car that I have,(04 Sonata w/V6 - uncle bens rice included), it does not have a CAI that I can find aftermarket. I thought about trying to do a test fit with a Tib one, but I don't know of any shops that have spare CAI's laying around. I heard that you could make them out of PVC pipe, and that you can take like a Honda pipe from Advance, take some measurements, and make one that way. Any ideas? Would it be better to just do a drop in filter instead of trying to make a custom CAI? - Shinobi
  10. Thanks for the responses. I am still in the process of looking at coilovers for my car. I can only find one vendor so far, and the price is 1100 bucks. Plus 2-3 months for shipping as they are based in Korea. Nope I don't play Warcraft. I use to play starcraft if that is any consolation. smile.gif Can I buy different struts to go with the new springs, but not buy coilovers? Is that possible? Thanks!! - Shinobi
  11. Considering putting on new struts, should I just do the coil overs? The coilovers are the strut and the spring combined? Thanks! - Shinobi
  12. Gotcha. I don't have the space to do the work myself, or the tools. I will have to go somewhere to get it done. I might try that import place. Anyone know of somewhere else that could do it? - Shinobi
  13. Question: What parts do you need to put on to properly lower your car? I have an 04 Sonata that I just put 17' rims on. Eibach springs are quoted to lower the car about 1.2'. I didn't know if I need to do different struts or coilovers or anything in addition to the springs. Also- where is a good place to get the springs installed? Any info is appreicated - links to sites to read on will also work. smile.gif Thanks! - Shinobi
