    If you aren't running a direct port system like how it was traditionally installed, you have little to no control over the distribution. Couple that to roots blown car that has distribution problems and low runner length, well..you get the idea. It has some great advantages, but it should not take the place of higher octane.

    Ad Hoc is correct as you aren't connecting the two machines via access point. Have you created the Ad Hoc network connection between the two laptops before running the network setup wizard? Make sure you are selecting the right network connection on laptop #1 that connects to the internet.

    Google Internet Connection Sharing. Run the network setup wizard on Laptop 2 and look for the option "Allow other computers to use this connection"

    The idea of a mechanical "fuse" doesn't sit well with me, but had they been MLS, chances are the piston would have failed if there was a good seal. Not to say paper gasket blow outs can't cause problems - They can take chunks of metal with them also.
