Correct. 12 or newer on the lacrosse. The regal have timing chain issues on the non turbo models, and the the turbo models I've seen a lot of issues.

Don't buy it then... at that mileage if it doesnt have all maint. history and you cant verify it on carfax then walk away.

If you plan on buying it I would take the motor out and re do all the seals/gaskets/turbos/t-belt water pump etc. get all maint. up to date. But being an auto I would swap it to 6 speed or not buy it at all.

I got 75 bucks for the one from my 1999.5 1.8t quattro A4 at a scrap yard off 104. This was back in 2008 or so.

Thats why I never buy new cars. Crazy how high car prices in general have gotten. Just have to seek out the good deals - that's how I've gotten almost every car I've owned.
