  1. For family entertainment, you can hit up the Adventure Science Center by Greer Stadium or the Lane Motor Museum. There are also a couple forts you can explore - Fort Nashborough & Fort Negley. For adult only entertainment, head on up by the Sommet Center, where the Predators play. There are lots of bars & clubs along Broadway and if you jonesing for some pool hit up the Wildhorse Saloon.
  2. Go Pens! I just wanna see Hossa's reaction when the Pens win it all!
  3. Sack up and just be honest with her. Break it off and tell her you're not looking for a relationship right now. Don't string her along because she'll just be more hurt, resentful and pissed off (and probably a little psycho) later when you do really break it off.
  4. A woman is taken to the emergency room at a hospital. Looks like she has put a heavy duty degreaser gel containing dimethyl sulfone or dmso on her body to relieve body pains from her cancer. As the dmso was being absorbed into her system via her skin, it was breaking down in her blood. On the way to the ER, the EMTs put an oxygen mask on her. As the oxygen was being absorbed into her blood, the oxygen atoms bonded to the broken down dmso to form the more toxic dimethyl sulfate. When they went to draw her blood, some of the dimethyl sulfate vaporized into the surrounding air, which the hospital staff breathed in and promptly fell ill. Dimethyl sulfate is used for industrial purposes to join methyl groups onto organic chemicals or it can be use as a biological weapon/war gas.
  5. Perhaps! I used to play on the Netjets D team on Sundays when I used to live up in CBus. I played with them for about a year or so, great groups of folks. Hung out with Thom, Suzanne & Murchie after the Jackets/Wild game Saturday. Other past teams I've played on in the Chiller leagues or the old Worthington Ice league - Rinkrats, Minotaurs, Yellow Jackets, Sled Dogs & the Capitols.
  6. The book is definitely better than the movie. I recommend it!
  7. Oh, I'm pretty sure that they'll be pre-gaming somewhere in the vicinity of Joe Louis. Maybe the Hockeytown Cafe? I've been on many road trips with the Jacket Backers in the past and we've always pre-gamed on the way up on the bus as well as somewhere beforehand.
  8. I'm playing in it as well! Should be a great time!
  9. If you're thinking of camping out for tix, you may want to as I read there are bout 3,000 tickets left for the first game. Last I checked there were only scattered singles in the upper bowl. A friend of mine called their ticket rep and asked if they held back any for the general public and his rep said no. Anything left over from the season ticket holder pre-sales would be available for the general public. Tix go on sale at 9am. There will be 250 Huntington Green seats and a minimum of 200 Student Rush tix available for each game. Good luck!
  10. Bringing this back up from the dead, as there are puck fans here... Per Puckrakers at the Dispatch... And also to note that season ticket holders will be having their pre-sales begining Mon, 3/30 for full play-off packages and Friday, 4/3 for individual game tix. Sooo, buddy up to your friends who are STH's!
  11. With that win last night, that puts us firmly in 6th place and pretty much clinching a play-off spot as we are 7points from 9th place St. Louis.
  12. I'm uber excited for the Jackets and for the play-offs. There have been so many horrible games I've sat through over the years as well as great ones. I've been to a couple of play-off games in Nashville and Raleigh and you're all right, this city has no idea of what is to come. That barn on Nationwide Blvd will be rocking!
  13. The Jackets just kinda sat back and thought that they could coast for the last 20 minutes. I had a horrible flashback to the old Jackets of yore just watching those last minutes. But they held on and won, thankfully. Boll does run his mouth a lot but he also is constantly chirped at too. Malholtra is decent but they've really got to go out and get a center for Nash. You'll really get to see who really flourishes with all the added pressure and who can't take it with these remaining games.
  14. The Columbus Zoo does do something similar! http://www.columbuszoo.org/events.aspx?eventId=242 I remember working there in my college days and walking by the Aldabra Tortoises on my break one day and hearing a low moaning sound. I look over and there's a pair of them going at it, moaning like an old man.
