1) broken skulls happen in MMA, esp UFC. It's not a common injury, but it's not super rare either. Evanglista Santos suffered one in 2016 in a match, and orbital fractures are more common than I am comfortable with in matches.

 

2) Within reason, it is not illegal for UFC to setup a lopsided fight, as long as both fighters know what they are getting into and understand the risk. Is it moral? eh...that's a different question but ain't nothing illegal about it. Fighters always have a choice to decline the match in favor of another match-up, nobody is forcing them to fight. Unlike other sports fighters have some leeway in picking their opponents.

 

3) UFC is "Pro Sport" like WWE is "Pro Sport" yes these are athletes and yes there is a competitive element, but the sanctioning body has a conflict of interest in that they also promote the series and benefit from the fights. I'm pretty sure if it were still legal they would have their fighter compete against kangaroos and bears if it sold tickets/pay per view subs. their primary interest is in producing interesting fights people want to see, often those are ones where people are evenly matched, sometimes however they are not.

So....what you're saying is their body their choice? They know all the facts and consulted with there family and friends and still get to chose what they do with their body.

they closed out the old funds for new ones with a lower expense ratio and a more certain time frame. The number of units went up because the new fund price is lower.

With that said, the Supra is a great sports car but not a Supercar. TO me the Supra of then is comparable to the ZL1 Camaro. It's bad ass. It can hold it's own on a track and costs less than a Ferrari or Lambo etc. but performance isn't the only thing that makes a supercar. How's the interior? Sound System? Does it give you a sense of something bespoke? No. The I wouldn't call it a Supercar. It's a high performance factory machine.

BTW, for an actor that doesn't seem to have a ton of facial changes in his repoirtoire...Ryan Gosling was great in this movie. Definitely delivered. I cannot think of a bad role he's done.

 

BUT for arguments sake you could...

-Take out conference championship games, take out conference divisions and select a conference champion the classic style. This will eliminate the chances a 4 or 5 loss team gets in (like Northwestern or Pitt)

Only way you could do that is to have 9-10 team conferences and have "One True Champions" like the Big 12 did.

Conference championship games make too much money for the NCAA, that's why there is the joke of the Big 12 championship game now.

Remember when the big ten only had 11 teams and the NCAA said no to having a championship game? Pepperidge Farms remembers...and that's how we got Nebraska.

Now the NCAA realizes there's money to be had so let's have a conference championship even though the big 12 doesn't have the required 12 teams and 2 divisions.

It's not happening until you can prove to the NCAA the money is there.

I'm all for whatever is an improvement. I think there is a big difference between FBS college football, FCS football,the NFL, and rec league softball though.

Money, the big difference is money.

All of you who are worried about the kids ability to "hack it", scholastically or physically, need to stop insulting the D1 athletes. The FCS teams have a tournament where 24(!) teams get in. And these kids aren't even on scholarship!!

What can I say? I'm a fan of new technology not as a bleeding-edge innovator, but someone that appreciates watching an idea come through the process all the way to a finished good for the consumer to buy...and maybe buy second- third- or fourth-hand years down the road at a discount.

I've been trying to think of a new or new-ish GM product that was in my price range ($25-30k) when car shopping last year that I've really wanted to check out. I can't think of any. Maybe a Volt to to say I checked it out and I didn't find any SS that wasn't high millage or beat.

Here's the thing with that stupid car. It gets 39 mpg highway. You can easily find similar fuel economy in a normal sized sedan. If it had gotten like 75 mpg people may have been more willing to make that trade off. Fuel economy is where it had to stand out, and it just doesn't.

As it stands, there is no legitimate need. It does nothing but fit in parking garages easily.
