I really don't think there's much we need to do at the moment. This thread alone should serve as a reality check. If things don't get better and the drama/bullshit doesn't chill out, THATS when I think stronger actions need to occur

True story. Maybe a lot of members aren't computer-savvy, who knows. I'm sure plenty of people that have joined are cool fuckin people who know a lot about cars and are turned off by the way some people act on here. A lot of guys who go to the track a lot and work on cars all day and are really cool to be around don't post much, or at all. I don't know why. One thing I added to my last post when I edited it.....I don't understand why so many people act completely different on the internet than they would in real life. It's hard enough as it is to judge someone by the words they type on the internet. There are a lot of people who say stupid shit on here they would never say in person. On the flip side of things, there are many of these same members who act like tools on the internet but I'm sure are cool as hell in person.

Exactly. I think thats how everyone feels. Maybe we aren't discouraging douchebaggery behavior as much as we should. I think the site will always have its ups and downs, every forum is like that. The main issue is taking steps to prevent the "downs" from happening, especially since CR is more of a friendly community than just your basic internet forum. The thing is, you can't always please everyone. I think a lot of members need to realize that this isn't just a car/racing forum, it's a local community with tight-knit members who share a big common interest and hang out a lot and help each other out. Too many people who act completely different on the forum than how they would act in person. I'm sure a lot of people who act like douches on here are actually cool people in real life. With a lot of the BS and nonsense on here, sometimes it feels more like an internet forum than a local community. I think thats part of the problem

I agree. I'm tired and not really wording stuff right. I guess what I'm trying to say, is that there's a reason why a lot of the vets on here say stuff like "everyone after x year needs to be banned." The general feeling is that everyone wished CR was "the way it used to be." I've only been here a few years and haven't been active outside the forum so I don't remember a lot, but there must be some pretty obvious reasons why it has gone downhill, and why the drama has gotten worse over time. I think theres only so much that you can do. I mean the rules have been put in place, the admins and mods do their jobs to the best of their ability. Theres only so much that you can control. Some members just need to lighten up and cut out the bullshit, like you said. When I say "know your role" I mean don't talk shit about someone you haven't met unless they deserve it or are an obvious stupid fuck, don't badmouth a forum sponsor, don't say stuff you won't say to a person to their face, don't get butthurt about something harmless said on the internet, etc. Stuff like that. I guess I don't really know what I'm trying to say here

Yeah I don't mean it like that, I just say it out of respect for the earlier guys on here and the people who helped build it. I still express my opinions when I want and feel like I belong as much as anyone, but I honestly don't feel like a senior member until I've met more than a dozen people on here and actually make it to some CR meets/track days/etc. That being said, I still think some of the newer members need to "know their role" and not get involved in shit they shouldn't be involved in, all it does is add to the drama
-
Too many people bickering about stupid bullshit, and too many post whores. That about sums it up. What do we do about it? I'm not sure. But what do I know, I'm still a noob

If I had the time I'd do it myself, although I'm sure you would be a lot better at it than I would! I've seen these exact wheels in excellent condition sell for A LOT more than my asking price
-
I have a set of 16" Irocs I'm looking to sell. 8" wide, 2 front and 2 rear, 5x4.75 pattern, '85-'87 style. They are in pretty good condition. I don't have any centercaps. All the wheels have minor nicks on them but they are all straight, none are bent. Three of the wheels have worthless tires on them. These three have all had the clearcoat stripped and were polished years ago. With a little polishing they would look awesome. The 4th wheel needs a little more TLC to look as nice. It has had the clear stripped, but has never been polished. The gray paint on this wheel looks shitty and would benefit from a decent spray job. http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c295/skoval25/irocs001.jpg http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c295/skoval25/irocs004.jpg http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c295/skoval25/irocs002.jpg http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c295/skoval25/irocs003.jpg I had them on my '92 Camaro and my '91 S10 at one point... http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c295/skoval25/s10_pic_01.jpg http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c295/skoval25/camarosig.jpg I'm asking $250 OBO. Open to all offers. Let me know if you have any questions! Thanks

Great thread, I'm curious to find some sweet places to camp too. John Bryan State Park near Dayton/Yellow Springs is pretty nice and seems like what you'd be looking for. I haven't been there in years though. I'd like to try somewhere else for a change
-
meh it's not my style but I've seen a lot worse. All that matters is that you're happy with it. And props for being original and not doing the same old tats everyone else gets. I want to get a few myself but I can never decide what i want.

Nice pics, clean car

Welcome! Your Camaro seems like it's pretty quick
-
Nice buy! awesome car
-
Thanks, and I agree with you on the wheels. If they were black I probably wouldn't have bought them. As for the Berger panel, from a historical standpoint I know why it's supposed to be semi-gloss. The reason it's gloss is I actually got the panel from the junkyard off a Camaro that was already painted black and it only cost me $14, and I can switch it out and go back to the red one if I want. I wasn't sure I'd like it that much, but now I'm glad I did it and I think the gloss black flows well with the car.

I listed an xbox on craigslist for my friend, someone emailed me asking if it was still for sale, I said yes, then they started with the scammer shit. This was my response... http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c295/skoval25/Image2.jpg I've done a lot better in the past, I really didn't put much thought into it this time. Does anybody else ever fuck with these people?

Thanks man, i appreciate it

Thanks guys Thanks man, it already had some stuff done when I bought it (bolt-ons). Got an LS7 clutch waiting to go in, probably sometime this summer. Whenever I get a better job and have the extra money I'll look into heads, cam, etc. I'll probably do some suspension stuff first though. Struts, springs, and subframe connectors are on the top of the list lol, ours here in Hilliard doesn't have it. People ask for it sometimes then bitch at us when they find out we don't have it, they'll be like "well thats stupid, the Marysville one has frozen hot chocolate, I'm never coming back here." Well good, go to fucking marysville then, I don't give a shit lol
