Roll racing is much easier on drivetrain parts. I like having a car that handles great too. The people that bash roll racing are probably ones who can't compete.
ddperformance.com will have all the answers. They sell kits and they are one of the biggest manual trans distributors around. I have had one in my car since 1996. It would probably be more trouble than it's worth trying make one work from another vehicle.
Windsors are 28.2 oz.-in. balance. I would just go to a Ford dealer. I don't know how much power you want to make but, the BBK 1 3/4 headers fit really good. I had the MAC ones on my car for a while and they don't fit nearly as well. The ball and socket style exhaust (like factory) have no gaskets or leaks. The Ford engine swap oil pan kit is nice too M-6675-A58.
I wouldn't stroke it unless you have to have new pistons. You would probably be surprised how well a Windsor will run with the right heads, cam, intake, etc. Is it going to be EFI or carb?
Races 4-5 I ran out of spray. That's why we ran the last one on the motors. The car had a 150 shot on it at that time. I hope we can do it again this summer, Tilley's car isn't the only one that got some major upgrades
Edelbrock performers or aluminum GT40's. Don't get anything cast iron, they are literally twice as heavy. These heads are inexpensive and they would take 50lbs. off the nose of your car.
