  1. Just curious, Is your CTS-V modified?

How 'fast' cars feel kind of fascinates me, since on paper these cars stock form acceleration look close enough to be negligible.

Not much. Headers, exhaust, pulley, tune. After just getting it back from Carlyle and Brian with that done, it felt like a pretty noticeable difference from stock.

  2. I test drove a 2017 or 18 ATS-V back in the spring with intentions of trading in my 2010 CTS-V to have a newer car. Just couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger with it being a V6 and much less power. The options and more modern stuff was nice, but not enough for me to change from the CTS-V
  3. My Kroger has about everything but the AE Rye. If someone comes across an extra when browsing, I will buy it from you, or just let me know where and I'll grab it.

    Por favor

I remember now that i have had it before, but it was during the Lake Cumberland poker run at night and I was beyond being able to tell the difference between tequila and bourbon or anything really

  4. Good work on the whiskepoxy.

Duff, I like the Western Reserve 14 yr. It's not replacing my AE rye, but I'd say I like it better than the popular buffalo trace, eagle rare, etc.. I'm not sure if it's $100 better, but I'm definitely going to keep a couple bottles around.

I'll have to find some AE rye. Glad you like it though and it wasn't a complete waste of $100 for you.

  5. Better be good Duff!!645486e5f0953fdeb8a2cfe57d4c4401.jpg

    At least it's purdy...

Let me know what you think. I think it's fantastic. I've gotten several people turned on to it. The ones that don't buy a bottle always ask for a glass when they come by

  6. Looks like it's readily available, I'll have to try it out. What are some of your other favorites, to get a sense of your preferences? Including other liquors?

Apparently they haven't been around long enough to age much so their older stuff is sourced dickel. I'm sure some of the other guys here can give you comps from the same mash.

I bought it because it was "the one that beat Pappy" in 2019 iirc. It's extremely available and out of Lakewood, Ohio I believe, which is why we can get it around here so easily. I have never had Pappy to compare.

I drink a lot of Weller, Buffalo Trace, and Bulleit for cheaper stuff and old fashioneds/manhattans. Also have a couple bottles of Blanton's and like Western Reserve better than that. I've been creeping this thread for awhile and have quite the collection of bourbons going, just never posted for some reason. All the Western Reserve is solid whether it's the 4,8,12, rye... but the 14 is incredible. Even their clear rum is good as shit, and it's cheap.

  7. If you can get gas to your garage, I'd just throw a used furnace in there with a scoop on top and filter on the side. I did it in my old house and it was cheap and simple. If the furnace broke, fuck it, another used furnace.

As far as minisplit systems go, they've come a long way and can heat pretty well down to 0 degrees on most brands. Pretty solid option as well and can get you cooling

  8. Fan motors will go bad and still spin freely. Heat pumps have a board that can go bad that has a fan relay on them to turn the fan on and off for defrost.

If the unit is under 5 years old, the parts are under warranty.

  9. Calumet, Bib & Tucker, Rabbit Hole, Weller, New Riff and a few other good ones are in London's Kroger. People around here don't appreciate good bourbon and don't want to spend over $25 on a bottle of anything.
  10. Be sure whoever you use shows you the true SEER rating. There have been numerous times I've come after companies to give a customer a quote and that company was trying to sell them a 16 SEER, but the matchup with the furnace made it actually only 14 SEER, so the customer was paying extra for absolutely nothing. Some furnaces can also be paired with a 14 SEER and bump the a/c up to a 16 SEER and you'd still be paying the price of the 14.

If you send me the sizing and equipment of what that company quotes you, I can have my boss run some numbers on it tomorrow and let you know what our price would be with Lennox brand stuff, so you can at least compare. There are just a lot of companies around Columbus that charge outrageous prices for off brand stuff and we usually beat the hell out of their price. I just don't want you to get screwed over.

  11. Thanks for the info! Turns out Carrier will warranty the heat exchanger which I think I am going to have them send me the parts but I am going to still just replace the furnace anyway with a new unit just due to age and well to do the repair it needs removed anyway. My plan will be to just replace the exchanger and then sell it cheap on craigslist to some one that needs it for their garage heating.

While we are on the topic of replacing stuff, what are the thoughts on replacing the AC while I am getting the furnace replaced? My AC unit looks to have been replaced in 2015 with a Goodman unit which from what I understand is the cheapest of the cheap. IIRC its even a 13 SEER rating which IIRC is the bare minimum you could put in. system works fine with no issues other than making the electric bill high.

How crazy are you wanting to go efficiency wise? If you do both at he same time you'll get a better deal than doing them separately. 13 SEER is the lowest efficiency, but has less things that could break or go wrong with them. I can give you a better explanation later, busy at work at the moment

  12. Awesome. Thanks. I'm maint super over 2 buildings. We have a contract with Accurate but if I ever need someone else I may hit y'all up.

Definitely let us know. The shop number is 614-232-2222

  13. What is your company, Duff?

The Comfortworks. It's The Waterworks' HVAC division. I made the move over to this company about 2 years ago because they were really wanting to get the HVAC side rolling, so I'm not meaning to come off as owning any of the company when I said "my company". We recently convinced my brother to come work with us too, which I would consider him one of the best installers in the state.
