  2. don't really know much on how to describe it but it's silver.. lights up blue... and I'm pretty sure you can even detect any traces of bodily fluids with it too! But seriously you can adjust vtec engagment points I know that much.... adjust fuel, and other stuff. If anyone needs a pic I'll get them one. It's in good shape. Comes with a 40 some page print out for it too. 75 bucks?.. Decided I'm going to go with a chipped ecu and not gonna need this anymore.

  4. yep put 4 BRAND NEW NGK plugs in and it's doing the same thing.... could my fuel filter have anything to do with it?....
  5. well, after switching things around and doing things the way i am being told to I am now getting a MUCH stronger spark now. So I'm lead to belive the coil may in fact be good. But now I'm really starting to think it could be a timing issue.... It has an AEM True time timing gear. set at 0. And it has a VAFC hooked up to everything. (Could that have anything to do with this?) Also measure top dead center at the #1 cylinder and had the cap off the rotor and the button isn't facing at the where the #1 cylinder is... I was always told when at T.D.C. the rotor button should be at 1 on the dizzy. I dont have much money so if I dont need that new dizzy then I dont wanna HAVE to buy it. BUT if I do need it I wont be able to make the trip now till mid week this week....
  6. Yes the rotor button and cam gear are in fact both moving. Timing belt is still nice and tight as it should be too. (Giggity) How do i convert my ditributor back to a stock one? I am really over the whole MSD thing lol as for the rotor button I think I tightened it up too much when i put the new one on cause now it wont come back off! as far as the firing order on the valve cover end... how does that go across left to right?
  7. Josh? Josh who?..... And thanks for the advice. I am done asking questions... if the dizzy doesn't fix it I'm done with it altogether! I guess the next thing would be trying to figure out a fair price for a non running car with everything that's done to it and as low milage as it has..... Thanks man..
  8. so any year will work as long as it's sohc with vtec? too bad a b series wont work I have one of those sitting in the garage! lol
  9. ok well couldnt find a test light anywhere! sad I know... Anyways with a volt meter we found it's getting continuity...(sp?) and when I take a spark plug out and put it on the plug wire and see if I am getting spark it is only putting out a weak spark but only when I start to crank on it not the entire time the engine is turning over. Also the spark rather then being blue is a red color.... Can you possibly tell me what year civic's a dizzy would work on my car? like do all d series dizzy's work? or just 96-00 ex's?

  11. I'm having some troubles with my distributor, it has the msd bullshit on it and I am almost 100% sure it's screwed up in some way. EVERYTHING else is checking out ok on the car and I'm just gonna quit trying to troubleshoot that whole thing and swap it all out for a stock dizzy. I'm not exactly sure what years would fit, but it's a 1.6 SOHC vtec engine. I'm in great need of this so I will be looking to buy asap! Givin the price isn't shot sky high cause someone can see how bad I need one.
  12. ok here's another update.... Compression on all 4 cylinders is good. Ecu is good (took it out and checked it) double and triple checked wires coming from the dizzy to the coil. (Have yet to get a voltmeter to check the signals off the coil however. Should have that done in a hour or so) Was able to remove the 4th plug, it was just a bit more snug then the rest after a few good back and forth methods it came right out with no other problems. http://autorepair.about.com/library/firing_orders/bl-fo-3967.htm so is the 1 on the dizzy the one on top, or is it the one closest to the firewall? One thing I did notice is the car seems to crank a bit faster now... but still no clue as to what that's about.
  13. yea just checked it and it's turning.... I had to tap the key crank to bump it over to get the rotor button to spin so i can put the new one on...
  14. see that's what I was thinking too..... This car has me tore down right now..... I'm tired as hell, and I have been at it since a little after 2 yesterday afternoon (techinically it's sunday now)..... It's a vendetta!!!! I just wish I knew what it was and I deffinitly wish I could get that plug to come out... that has me really worried! I wont get rid of this car with it having problems like that...... I wouldnt really want that same shit happening to me thats for sure!
  15. ok crazy question... would it matter if the cap seal was ripped?.... I didnt even notice in the packaging it came with a whole new one and the one on the dizzy is missing a 2" section!!
  16. ok gotcha! so I'm guessing the hot one will be the + one right? and if it's not doing what you said it should then chances are it's my ignitor? if it is the ignitor can that be replaced? or do I have to look for a whole other dizzy?
  17. I'm not gonna bullshit anyone.. I'm NOT mechaincally inclined at all... so can you tell me what I have to check exactly on the ignitor?.... I'm sorry for not fully udnerstanding. But I greatly appriciate the help!
  18. ok so looking at this is it possible to make my dizzy back to utilizing the internal coil and getting rid of the msd crap altogether? (I know I would need another dizzy cap of course, but those are a dime a dozen around here)
  19. so then can i just get a stock dizzy and use that rather then having to deal with all the msd bullshit??? and how can i tell if any or all the parts in my dizzy is bad? can you direct me toward a diagram of one showing all the parts?? lastly about the plug... what do you suggest I do about getting it out then?.... And for what it's worth thanks a lot man! I really apriciate the help!!
  20. ook so update.... car's suddenly not making any spark now.... Could it be a crank sensor? and if so where exactly is that? and worst case scenerio.... if the head gasket blew.... would it do what it's doing?
