  1. Derek at ntb x2 he is turborust on here

Butt.... why is this in the project managment ?

Sorry, more background: Taking my car back to stock rideheight to make room for duals. I have to yank my tunnel brace mounted torque arm, put in the transmission crossmember for the new torque arm along with the torque arm and then the exhaust.

Thanks everyone! Will hit Derek up.

  2. Since I thought I might have a rear main leaking and did not want to ruin my newish clutch, I had my Trans Am towed over to Rob's. They did a great job getting it on and off the truck (Lowered front and rear). Thanks!
  3. Thanks again, Rob. Took my Trans Am in because I thought I might have a leaking intake/rear main going bad and I needed a new pinion seal in my Moser 9". Rob found the problem with the oil leak up front and could have run up the bill on me as it was neither, but he didn't. I really appreciate it, Rob! Now you get stuck with the heads and cam along with a lot of other goodies next year!!! :)
  4. He's saying it's your case (the part the dif goes into) that dictates which size bearing you need, not the diff itself. A factory case can be either of the 2 sizes depending on what it's out of.

Gotcha. One final question: If the case determines what bearing size you need, then the diff/locker should work with any bearing size, correct? When I bought my Truetrac, all I supplied to the rep at Eaton was my center section and size (Ford 9") and # of splines (31). He never asked what bearing size I had which is why I am confused (Doesn't take much, I know...).

    Thanks for the help everyone!!!

  5. Got a question for you Ford boys. I have a Locker that I wanted to verify the bearing size on. It is stamped with a part number 70882. Was wondering if anyone knew of the top of their head what size the bearings were in this thing? 2.89/3.062 or 3.25"? Can post a picture if necessary. Thanks!!!
  6. If you get the chance, I highly recommend it. It is awesome! Did a deep sea charter and caught a 60" wahoo. Snorkeling out on Pinel is great...there is just a lot to do there. Also, there is actually an outdoor bar there on the beach by the runway where all those people were filming those planes. It gets pretty crazy at night with women doing body shots and what not. Definitely not a place to take the wife or girlfriend if you are going to partake. :) Consider yourself warned. ;)
  7. yea..thats pretty crazy..anyone on the board ever been there?

Yeah, I went there back in 1999. It is friggin' crazy!!! I didn't notice it until I got off the plane how short that runway is. On the other end of that runway is a fence, road and then another bay!!! Don't go long!!! I have a picture of myself with a Northwest flight coming in over my head there. Even scarier is Air France will fly in 747 jumbo jets to that place!!! I've been told they are notorious for clipping the security fence with their landing gear because they have to get as much runway as they can in order to stop.

Here is a picture of the picture...don't have a scanner and my girfriend at the time was using a disposable camera so it kinda sucks in terms of size and clarity. But then again, I guess you get the point!!!

  8. Reverse lockout solenoid for the T56 isn't there. The PCM thinks it is.

So did my OBD-II think one was there or another question would be how did it prevent this if there was/is no lockout solenoid? I am curious as to why now all of a sudden I can throw my shifter over to reverse with this PCM and more importantly, if there is a way to prevent it when I am going down the road? I don't mind having to put in a little extra effort to get the car into reverse when I am actually backing out, however, don't want this thing trying to go into reverse on the highway either!!! I can only imagine the carnage that would ensue should that happen! :(

  9. With the help of one of my friends, we got the OBD-I PCM into my TA this weekend. My problem/concern is this: The PCM I put in was originally in an AT and I have a T56. I noticed right off that it is now real hard to get the car to go into reverse standing still. Even scarier is the transmission will now let me slide over at highway speed from any gear to reverse!!! Before you couldn't do anything to miss 5th and go into reverse and now it will slide right over. My thinking is it has to be something in the PCM that we checked or did not check since I have never had this problem before or did a solenoid magically go out in my transmission that locks out reverse when you are over a certain speed? Or am I clueless and should shut up at this point??? Thanks!!!
