Favorite was a tanto-tipped, semi-serrated, Balisong. It fell apart on me and I haven't found another one like it. But now I carry a foldable utility knife. Happens to be a Husky, but I've seen some really nice ones out there. This one's a little nicer than mine: http://www.homedepot.com/Tools-Hardware-Hand-Tools-Cutting-Tools/h_d1/N-5yc1vZ1xr5Zaqdd/R-100020658/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053 But I like the idea behind these. If you're carrying a knife just for opening things, these are perfect. The benefits of a utility knife (Super sharp, easy to replace blades, high strength) with the benefits of a pocket knife (foldable, safety lock, belt clip).

Balls didn't touch, not gay.

You know what's *REALLY* funny? All this flap about the ad has probably shown it to more people than would have seen it during the SuperBowl.
-
Actually, I was pointing out that the market share is roughly the same, making that argument against the ad invalid. Despite Nurkvinny's numbers, I think the numbers are a lot higher and closer to the 10%. But then alternative lifestyles are difficult to quantify. Nowhere in the ad did they promote the lifestyle. They were promoting a dating service. And quite humorously too; I know my family would be laughing if they saw that ad, not horrified. Are we in the shitter because we tolerate gays? Or because we tolerate intolerant viewpoints? The one thing that truly offends me and makes me morally outraged is when someone tells me what I should be offended and morally outraged by. Who's morality? Misinformation and fearmongering aren't moral, yet the "I'm a Mac" ads are still on TV. "Morality" is as difficult to define as faith. I'll say this. My friends, throughout my life, have very often been those who are looked down on by the "moral majority." Nerds, geeks, drug users, drug dealers, punks, metal-heads, ravers, gays, lesbians, wiccans, furries, as well as the scary-intelligent and free-thinkers that are often demonized. I never judged them on those aspects alone. And *to a person* I got a great friendship in return. They were better people than many of those who consider themselves "moral." As for what people should tell their kids, tell them the same thing as when they ask why that man and that lady are tumbling around on the bed behind that bottle of perfume in the foreground. It's a discussion for when they're older. And if they are, parents should trust their parenting and their kids' morals to make up their own decision. Guide and Educate. Don't leave the kids in a vacuum or they'll find out on their own and without guidance. Equal Signs, Pink Triangles, and Rainbows show support for their lifestyle, not anti-heterosexualty. Putting a line through those symbols would be anti-gay. I'm sure you'd be upset if someone had a sticker of a cross, or whatever symbol you hold important, with a line through it. Come up with your own symbol for for your lifestyle and that would be fine (interlocked Mars and Venus sigils are fine). Showing support for something is not provocative. Showing your hate for something is.

I don't approve of NASCAR and I still have to put up with those ads. Roughly 33million people watch NASCAR which is about the same percentage of the population that is believed to be gay (10%.) Same market size.

Lots of good stuff. But the wheelchair trike sucks. I don't know what they were thinking, but it just screams "Hey! Look! I'm in a wheelchair!" It's bulky, boxy and just plain ugly. The guy riding it looks like Capt. Pike or Davross in that thing. OCC has proven you can make a trike for someone without the use of their legs and still have it look cool. So I don't know what possessed that company to show that thing off. OCC's Paraplegic trike: http://i.pbase.com/o4/47/92247/1/60983197.Mvc023s.jpg gotta copy and paste the link. Can't find a better pic right now. -
And lulz were had.

To be fair, it's not difficult when most of the cars here are on Pizza Cutters and Drag Slicks.

Trying to decide on tires for the wife's A4...
Draco-REX replied to Nitrousbird's topic in Passing Lane
Dedicated tires. Costs more, but having true snow tires in the winter is safer. Not only will snow tires reduce your worry when she's driving in bad weather, but if her Audi is a Quattro, nothing short of a foot of snow will stop her so you won't have to juggle the Avalanche. -
The downside to revolution in this day and age, is that while we are allowed to bear arms, the government's arms are bigger.

Stupid bumper-sticker. My mother is pro-choice. She *CHOSE* to have me. And that's all I'm going to contribute to this particular subject. As for the main topic. CBS is a private company, they don't HAVE to air every ad. But I think it's chickenshit of them to turn it down.

I bet it makes better use of it's 480hp than most cars would with 600hp. That being said, the 911 GT3 RS is more road-friendly than this is, I'll bet.

It can stop any car with an ECU by destroying the ECU. It works by blasting microwaves at the car. When you put metal or other conductive material in the way of these radio waves, it generates a small electrical current. Not enough to really notice usually. But the fine, nanoscopic connections inside the microchips in the ECU are delicate enough that this charge will fry them. Poof, no ECU, no ignition. At the same time your stereo, digital watch, cell phone, ipod, any anything else you have in the car with a chip in it will also cease to function ever again.

Bah, I once knew a guy who wanted to build a Tandem-Double.

I'd cross-shop with newegg.com. They usually have better prices, and they won't bombard you with junk e-mail like TD does. I haven't been shopping for parts lately, but RAM is easy. As much as you can afford. She wants to multi-task quite a bit, so she'll need RAM more than anything. A middle of the road CPU and video card should be fine for her needs.

This has nothing to do with whether I like Obama or not. If I saw an Obama08 plate, I'd think the same thing. There's nothing wrong with showing your support for a *candidate.* But after the election, paying for a plate looks like either gloating or being obstinate. The election's over, time to work with what we've got, not plug your ears and yell "I never liked you anyway!"
-
I've seen Nobama plates on cars driving around.. Seems so dumb to me.
-
So you guys would pay $86+ per year for what is essentially an outdated election bumper sticker?
-
Upside down and backwards.. I've seen plates with similar sentiments. Honestly, the political climate these days is nearing religious fanaticism. WAY too much Us vs Them mentality.

Looks like the guy who did the conversion used regular car batteries. You need to use deep-cycle batteries for an application like this. It's no wonder the range took a nosedive.

Technichally, you're supposed to leave your wreath up for a month past Xmas to to ensure good luck in the new year. But I don't think lights are part of that tradition.
-
Yes sir, yes you do.

Invested $500 last year, just dumped it for $2000 to finally swap the STI drivetrain into the WRX. I don't remember SIRI hitting 0.05, but I do wish I had bought more when it was 0.11.
