Back home in Australia they brought those damned red light cameras into service, next thing was speed cameras, then they took those duties away from the police and the citations are issued by public servants and private companies, now if you are doing 2kph (1.5mph approx) over the limit you will get a severe ticket, be afraid, be very afraid.

Traffic stops result in more arrests for serious crime than all criminal investigations do, it is a fact, not every crime scene has fingerprints, life is not like CSI Miami. Have you ever heard of false tags? Radioing ahead can work, but usually there is more than one situation going on at a time unlike on TV. That said a situation which is becoming increasingly dangerous is usually stopped by the radio operators My point is cops NEVER know what is going on when they stop a car or walk into any situation. This is why the most dreaded cop duty and most dangerous is a domestic, it can be a tiff over a cup of coffee or a wigged out druggie with an axe, I know I have been to both.

You are a simpleton son, you need to get out there and see the real world, if the cops let them go and 30 seconds later the offenders plowed into your family at 90 mph you would be the first to bitch that they didn't persist and save your family. Really if you are partaking in a conversation via text you are continually looking away from the road to write a sentence at a time, to change channels on my older car, takes one press of a button, do you not see the difference? GPS/NAV should be set before you leave so that's no reason, Front seat dvd should not work whilst being driven, back seat should be controlled by the passenger. To stop looking at your phone to dial, don't make calls when driving, maybe if you have hands free you can accept them only, but I still have misgivings about that also. Good point on the iPod maybe it should be banned while driving also, set it and leave the damn thing alone while driving. You can always pull ovber or change it while waiting at the traffic lights. How hard is it for you to realize not everyone is as superior and capable as you, some people actually need to drive when they are behind the wheel, I know my niece has had about 10 wrecks in 5 years the majority due to texting. My neighbor, a great guy, riding his bright yellow bike at 65 mph at 9.30 am on a 4 lane had a stupid middle-aged texting woman in her SUV pull out of a side road and hit him, breaking 17 bones and nearly killing him, 8 months later she injured another person in a wreck doing the same thing. If it saves one life it is worth your slight inconvenience

Traveling East on 24 the four lane goes from 65 to 55 mph as 6 joins 24, this is a pure revenue raising effort as the road remains a four lane, beware....

I have a very old but rebuilt 350 that is in a S10 and runs, I am planning on swapping in a built 350 I have. It runs and is strong, no idea at all as to the miles or time since rebuild. Would be cheap if you're interested. aussiesmg@yahoo.com
